Marriage In Uk

Marriage is hard in the UK full stop. I'm a clean shaven guy and even then it's not easy. I have seen that 99% of Sikhs (yes even Amritdhari) believe in the caste system to an extent, this rules out a big portion of the people I am able to marry.

Girl's tend to be very fussy these days regarding what they want.

This whole - amritdhari guys tend to treat their women poorly and so they don't want an amritdhari bloke because they have negative associations etc - that stuff is a balant lie. it might apply to one or two. the real reason is that want a clean shaven guy because that is what the find attractive and because they dont want ppl looking @ them funny when they go out because their with an amritdhari bloke.

they did this debate on bbc asian radio a few years back. good honest answers.

Yeah i remember that. The girl who said she has singh friends but wouldn't date them said some of her friends are embarrased just to be seen walking with a singh as a friend, not even as a boyfriend. Its all to because of the look man. Girls and guys who say this is not true should have listened to that talk show. It was the real deal. Real thoughts from real people.

I personally would never marry a singh that is so insecure that he is more worried about marriage then his sikhi. I rather not marry. lol that said, I will be marrying whomever my parents pick for me, I would prefer not to even meet him before marriage. I trust my parents and waheguru.

I can see that maybe being the case. I guess if you get called out on it you dont want to give the reasons you mentioned... b/c then you seem a bit superficial and bitchy...

I don't want to get married either I want to be a YOGI or sadhu that meditates on waheguru 24/7. But I'm far from it but will get there through kirpa hopefully with couple of years. Peeps do u know of any good jungles to go and meditate in especially in uk or India lol?

I'm sorry darling but we are not all as blessed as yourself. We never said we are really into sikhi and really religious. But at least we are keeping our hair. When we don't, people like you (not neccessarliy you) complain.

We're all at different levels. Yes, meeting a partner to settle down with at this point in my life is very important to me.

And how does discussing the problems associated with keeping a turban and beard equate with being more worried about marriage than sikhi? If anything, it shows we are deeply concerned with sikhi i.e. turban and beard and the future of it.

Veer Ji, I never understood one thing about you. Are Guru's never encouraged us to be yogis or sadhus but yet you bring it up alot. you know it is easy to go into jungle and do tapsa but it is hard to live in this world and do tapsa. See if you ever come back from your jungle, this world is going to effect you again and your tapsa will not as fruitful, as if you lived in the world and did tapsa and rised above it all.

I am a very big moorak and i am still learning about Sikhi, so if I am wrong please correct me.
