I thought Islam was the only faith obsessed with how females dress?

There is nothing obsessed about wearing proper clothes. It is probably our mind that is obsessed with thinking that others ideology are based on harsh/fanatic mindset. It is not very long time ago when every civilized society used to or still continue to wear decent clothes. Take a trip on images.google.com and search 40's/50's even 60's/70's era and see how well they used to dress up (both genders). Take an example of amish community or others who are well decent to cover up themselves. If you think wearing less or tight to reveal figures is okay for women then it is your ultra liberal upbringing that makes you to say that.. Wearing pants almost close to your knee instead on your waist is not decent in any society and no religion accepts that no matter what you are or how liberal one is.

^^^Guys don't really have a say on what girls are to wear. It is up to girls to decide. Lets just hope the bibia's insides are clean before they obsess over what to wear. Remeber all answers lie with the guru, follow gurbani and you'll be okay.

wearing jeans and leggings is evolving with times? What common sense are you using to make this statement. LOL It's called fashion evolves through out time, but this does not make the clothing worn by previous generations obsolete. Clothing are clothing, they cover the body and some cover less than others. Some are more modest than others.

What is being questioned here is if leggings are a modest piece of clothing to wear for a Sikh women.

it saddens me when non amritdhari sikh girls wear revealing clothes...but it absolutely horrifies me when singhnia do it.....it actually makes my blood boil...if you cant hack the discipline of a khalsa lifestyle..dont bother taking amrit..PERIOD!!!

Omg. So ur saying bibis should wear clothes of which were worn in the 50's

. Im sorry, but revealing is like low cut tops, really really skin tight tops, see through tops, short skirts, sleeveless tops, a short top with leggings. But we ain't talking about that, we are talking about jeans ( the most common form of trousers in societies today) and leggings under long tops. Everyones going a bit off topic. All u guys who are commenting , I'd love t o have a look at your wardrobe and see if ur clothes resemble those of the 50's lol. Look at the end of the day its personal choice , aslong as ur body is covered up I.e no leg showing etc
