I read the manpreet badal's platform and it sounds too good to be true but my question: Is manpreet badal aligns with communist framework? I read in news where one person mentioned that manpreet admire papi Karl Marx. My brother told me that he reads old communist writings.

Is there any truth in that. I think he will make one good CM but will do no good to us in religious wise.

Unfortunately, as things stand, a communist styled movement is more likely to take place and succeed in Punjab over a religious (Sikh) one.

Communism is a dead ideology and has no chance to stage a comeback.

In Punjab of 1950s sikhs main enemy was congress and communism. Whereas

congress was monopolized by sikhs who revered Gandhi and fundamentalist

Hindus, non believer sikhs formed communist block.

Sikhism came under heavy attack from communists. They were preaching against

Amrit sanchar and were saying to solve food shortage in Punjab pool of harmandir sahib

should be planted with paddy.

In struggle of 1984 communists were with congress. Now there is no difference between two.

Manpreet before fighting election two decades ago took amrit but shaved of his beard

and head after winning election.

I am not surprised if he is a communist. But we should know that communism and religious values never go

together.

Anybidy align with communist mindset is never a Sikh. Sadly there are many active communists in Punjab. I also know some communist magazine used to be very popular in punjab.

Failed example of communist rule is Russia &north korea. Other failed examples are castro of cuba and gangster che guvera.

Is it true a turban wearing person is head of india's communist party?

I must agree with one of the posts above that communist movement or a political movement is most like to succeed in Punjab rather than a religious movement. We as Sikhs are so ignorant of Communist Ideology that we overlook some of the great things it offers. Religious Communism is a great platform for Punjab and especially when all religions aspire after the ethical fruits of individual actions. Even Bhai Sahib Bhai Sukhdev Singh Babbar read lenin's interpretation of Marx and Engels ideas on effective revolutions. Communism was very popular among the farmers in punjab during the 60s and 70s without a doubt.

Failed example of communist rule is Russia &north korea. Other failed examples are castro of cuba and gangster che guvera.

Russia was a totalitarian regime. It was not even a socialist economy, far away from communism. Have you read anything on Cuba and its economic growth with the trade embargo? wow. Che Guevara was a revolutionarya and he died a revolutionary. Yes, Harkishan singh Surjeet was the head of the communist party. You dont have to be an ATHEIST to be a communist, although that is what Marx wanted but who is following Marxism-Communism anyway, right? haha

I have not read what is religious communism? Religion and communism do not go together.

Turban had no meaning for Harkishen surjeet who used to trim his beard and say derogatory things

about sikhs who were fighting for their self respect in 1984. Most vicious propaganda was against sikhs

was coming from these communists.

Communism is an economic ideology where the State owns/controls the means of production, including Land, Labour and Capital. It has nothing to do with religion.

The only reason communist countries have not allowed religious freedom is to prevent the development of alternative power bases that may challenge the State.

The idea that Manpreet Badal is a communist is laughable. He is a scion of a family with enormous business interests in India and abroad.

Something interesting on Manpreet

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IHRO/message/51649

Fukra Manpreet: In the evening Badal learns `rishtas' have no meaning in

politics

I first heard the name of Manpreet Singh Badal in the year 2000. We were

discussing how P.S. Badal was hell bent to bring Sukhbir Badal as his successor.

Dr. RPS Boparai was all praise for him. Then Mr. X opined, "No, u don't know

Manpreet, He is a fukkra." Mr. X then thoroughly explained how Manpreet was a

hypocrite and always poses himself to be a genius of an intellectual.

Incidentally Mr. X is a close friend of Manjinder Singh Kang the present ally of

Manpreet.

A lot of water has since flowed down the Punjab rivers and now Sukhbir is

conveniently in the saddle and I feel no meaningful rebellion except this

Manpreet's. We have also heard how Sukhbir has been in hurry to be enthroned and

insisting that it was time for Badal sahib to take some rest. We have also heard

the rumour that Badal has not been quite happy with the hurry shown by Sukhbir.

There have been instances of a father blinding his son (Jahangir:khusro) even a

mother eliminating her son (Indira- Sanjay) brothers killing brothers (many

instances) and sons killing fathers (many instances) but Badal believed in none.

And superseded many a Jathedar to give tickets to his kith and kin. What ever it

may be we are sure that Badal sahib must have now realized that politics knows

no `rishta' and Manpreet has left no doubt on those principles laid down by

history.

Personally I believe Manpreet has no future in view of the following

1. Contradiction- Only yesterday he was opposed to subsidies and today when

opposition came he has accepted that subsidies are necessary to a certain

extent,

He is speaking again bhai-bhatijawaad in politics un-ashamedly forgetting that

he himself is the product of that very concept.

I.e He is not mature enough to remain silent on selective issues.

2. When first time he was to fight election of Gidderbaha, the patit Manpreet

was brought to Akal Takhat by Badal sahib and he took amrit. Now you can see how

much amritdhari Manpreet is?

3. His approach is not very clear. Sometimes he talks about Punjab's mainstream

issues and in the next moment he switches over to such postures to please

anti-Punjab lobby. Please forgive me for using this harsh proverb but it is

being used in politics `dhobi da <banned word filter activated>, na ghar da no ghat da.'

4. He is concerned about the heavy loan on Punjab's head and is promising to

clear it. How; he has not been able to spell out? It is a childish talk. Well if

at all the Centre is to do that the Centre will support its party in the state

i.e Congress. Why would the Centre strengthen a non-ally?

5. He has not been able to clarify his programme. The impression so for we

gather is his policies are identical with Congress. So at the most he will be

competing with the Congress. He has not sided with the Sikhs. He has earned the

wrath of poor SCs in view of subsidies.

i.e he has failed to tell how his party would be different from Congress, BSP,

BJP etc. He doen't take pride in being Akali neither he claims himself to be an

Akali.

6. He declared that he would announce his programmes and policies on Nov. 14 (on

Nehru's birthday) but here again he failed.

7. Yes he has a scope in BEING A TOUT like Gurcharan Singh Tohra,

B.S.Ramoowalia, SS Barnala and SSMann. But touts can't win an election.

Manpreet has been befooled by the Congress and agencies the way they silently

supported him pursuing people to join him on Nov. 14 at Amritsar. Manpreet is

not able to see the reality.

Obviously any body would question himself `Why should I support Manpreet?'

Manpreet has nothing to give.

In my view Manpreet will soon get tired when he faces the real test of his

popularity and his career lies in business there he might become a

multi-millionare.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
