This group Canadian Hindu Advocacy (www.canhindu.com) has waded (poked their nose into) into this whole kirpan controversy and seems to have taken some shots at the World Sikh Organization as well.

www.canhindu.com/bankirpan.doc

Ms Beaudoin,

We are the Canadian Hindu Advocacy, a national organization and the largest representative of the Hindu community in Canada. We would like to congratulate you and your party on recent moves to restrict Sikh kirpans and Muslim niqabs.

Kirpans can be used as deadly weapons and there have been documented cases of Canadian Sikhs injuring others using kirpans.

Sikh turbans and Islamic attire like niqabs, hijabs, and burkhas have been used in certain cases of violence, robberies, and concealment by terrorists.

By contrast, Jewish and Hindu communities have achieved maximum success in North America by integrating into society in a harmonious fashion. There is no place in Canada for destructive cultural traditions being imported from overseas. Hindu and Jewish traditions, on the other hand, are conducive to democracy and should be encouraged.

We thank you and your party for recognizing these fundamental truths.

Ms Beaudoin,

We are the Canadian Hindu Advocacy, a national organization and the largest representative of the Hindu community in Canada. We would like to congratulate and thank the Quebec National Assemby for excluding the World Sikh Organization of Canada from participation in the debate over Bill 94.

There are many compelling reasons to exclude this organization from public discourse, aside from the very legitimate kirpan issue. The World Sikh Organization is an organization which defends the right to advocate for a mythical Sikh state, to be named 'Khalistan'.

The 'Khalistan' movement, which WSO tries to equate with PQ goals for an independent nation, is very different from French Canadian aspirations. 'Khalistan' means 'Land of the Pure', and such a state could only be created by perpetrating genocide or ethnic cleansing against the almost 50 percent of India's Punjab state which are non Sikh minorities.

This movement was responsible for the rape and mass slaughter of thousands of civilians, and supporters were suspected of blowing up an AIr India jet in Canada, killing over 330 Canadians.

Such a movement bears more similarity to the German Nazi movement in the 1940s than to any group advocating nationhood for Quebec. We thank the Quebec National Assembly, and recommend that the WSO be excluded in the future, regardless of whether or not turbans and kirpans are worn.

Regards Rupesh Bhardwaj Canadian Hindu Advocacy

Ha ha!

No one is going to take this blatant arse kissing seriously are they?

It's like some obnoxious kid in a playground trying hard to get liked by others by being bitchy about another kid. lol

On the plus side, maybe such pressure will make certain pendu elders think twice about getting over excited and using kirpans in Gurdwara conflicts.....

...actually I doubt it will...

This group kisses Jewish butt all day long. They are close with the JDL .. look at this article below, CHA is mentionned at the end:

One might find it curious to see militant Zionists and Hindu nationalists come together to host a rally in solidarity with racist British football hooligans in the dead of the Canadian winter.
But when the common enemy is Islam, transatlantic right wing extremists seem happy to ignore their differences and embrace a marriage of convenience.

The leader of the English Defense League (EDL), a rabidly anti-Muslim organization notorious for holding violent and intimidating street protests, was given a forum to address approximately 100 people at the Toronto Zionist Centre by the Canadian wing of the Jewish Defense League (JDL) last Tuesday.

In a political and economic climate of uncertainty and fear, scapegoating and blatant racism have found receptive audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.

Speaking to the Canadian crowd via Skype connection, EDL leader Stephen Lennon stated that, "Islam stands fundamentally against what we are for. It's like oil and water."

He warned Canadians to fight back before being overrun by "Islamofascists" like Britain.

Alleged to have been a member of the racist British National Party, Lennon was charged with assaulting a police officer at an EDL demonstration last November.

While the EDL has forged links with Dutch far right politician Geert Wilders and elements of the Tea Party movement in the US, this was the group's first foray into Canada.

Though major British Jewish organizations have denounced the EDL as Islamophobic and violent, the Jewish Defense League of Canada welcomed them with open arms due in large part to the EDL's support for Israel in what it sees as a war of Western civilization vs. Islam.

The JDL claims to be committed to, "the reclamation of the Jewish sense of Justice and the abolition of hatred and bigotry."

Outside the event protesters from the Anti Racist Action shouted, "How can you stand arm in arm with these fascists? Your grandparents would be ashamed!"

Wearing balaclavas and hoodies emblazoned with the image of a clenched fist over a Star of David, JDL members silently stood guard.

Labeled a violent extremist organization by the FBI, the JDL is a far right Zionist movement founded by Rabbi Meir Kahane in 1968.

A former charter member of the JDL named Baruch Goldstein murdered 29 Palestinians in a Hebron mosque in 1994. The
JDL's website
praises Goldstein as, "A martyr in Judaism's protracted struggle against Arab terrorism."

Most recently the leader of the JDL, Irv Rubin, and another member were arrested in 2001 for plotting to blow up a mosque in Culver City, California and assassinate Arab-American Congressman Darrell Issa.

The Canadian branch of the JDL operates openly in North Toronto, a testament perhaps to the unprecedented strengthening of ties between Canada and Israel over the last five years.

While the group has not been linked to any acts of terrorism, hate speech and incitement spewed unchallenged from JDL representatives at the EDL event.

Before introducing Lennon a JDL representative advocated the ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians from the Occupied Territories and the destruction of the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

Expressing support for Florida pastor Terry Jones' effort to organize a mass burning of the Koran on the anniversary of 9/11, he proclaimed, "The Koran should be burned in any civilized country."

Global linkages are being made between racist organizations hell bent on combating their perceived enemies. When such voices of violence and provocation receive a welcoming audience in one of the world's most multicultural cities it is frightening to imagine what it portends for the future.

The words of a speaker from the group Canadian Hindu Advocacy should serve as a warning.

"The problem of Islam is a global problem," he declared.

"We will resolve this problem one way or another."

I just cooked this up. Send it to those idiots

Ms Beaudoin

We the Akhand Khalsa Force are converts to Sikhism from Hindu background. We are a universal organization which is out there to let the world know that there can be, there are, and there will be people from non-Sikh backgrounds embracing the Sikh religion. We would like to express our severe disgust at your intolerant moves attempting to ban the Sikh kirpan and the Muslim niqab. The kirpan stands for kirpa meaning grace, and aan meaning honor, thereby implying that it is to be used as a graceful tool in saving one's honor, or the honor of someone else at risk. To call it a dagger or knife is highly derogatory. The kirpan or the niqab have in no way obstructed any Sikh or Muslim individual to carry out his/her duties as a law-abiding citizen, or executing his/her professional responsibilities at their respective places of work. Sikhs and Muslims have nothing but added to the rich cultural flavor of this great nation. A minor overview of Sikh philosophy and history would educate anyone about the fact that this faith propagates religious freedom and has always been against any form of tyranny, sometimes at great costs.

We take this opportunity to urge you to ban every organization such as the Canadian Hindu Advocacy that may hold ties to fundamental Hindu outfits such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh who have been blamed for the slaughter of 3,000 Muslims in the western Indian state of Gujarat in early 2002, and have participated in several other instances of anti-Muslim carnage. We urge you to ban every organization that recognizes Sikhism as an offshoot of Hinduism, or wishes to turn India into a Hindu country which would mean distortion of Sikh history and philosophy.

Any positive change in your stand towards the Sikh kirpan and Muslim niqab, and any tough action taken against the above mentioned organizations will not only be appreciated, but will play a major role in cementing inter-cultural as well as inter-religious ties in the most cordial fashion in our country

with warm regards

Mehtab Singh Tufaani Patakka

By the way, there is no group called Akhand Khalsa Force and I am no supervisor. I cooked that up as well to freak them out.

Canadian Hindu Advocacy Wants Kirpans & Turbans Banned

Dal Khalsa UK blasts the the following statement by the Canadian Hindu Advocacy in wanting the Kirpan banned the statement has been copied and pasted below:

NOTE: Kirpans are allowed in the both the Canadian & UK Parliaments

On the 1st issue of banning Kirpans & Dastaars - turbans,we would like to set the record straight to the fanatical Hindu Advocacy & we will not shy away from stating that they support Hindu Terror groups like the RSS,who want to implement the fascist Hindutva Ideology in India.

The Sikhs are one of the most hard working communities in the Western Hemisphere & have integrated in to all fields of work and society. The Sikhs have also won the right to wear the Kirpan and Dastaar/Turban freely & openly in the United Kingdom as well as Canada. They may be instances where issues occur regarding the Kirpan, but by LAW we as Sikhs can wear them & will refuse to remove them,as they are ARTICLES OF FAITH.

May we remind the Hindu Advocacy & in particular Rupesh Banarjee,we Sikhs did not remove our Kirpans & Turbans when Nazi Bullets were facing us.Nor did we remove our Kirpans when it came to defending Panjab & the Sikh Faith, the Sikhs chose death instead.

On the issue of religious freedom Rupesh Banarjee/Hindu Advocacy and in particular the Hindu Fanatics/Hindutvadis are an ungrateful group of people.

When it came to the religious freedom of the Hindu Pandits of Kashmir and Hindu Nation our 9th Guru Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Maharaj gave his life in Delhi to uphold the Human Rights & religious freedom of the Hindu People. It was due to the sacrifice of our 9th Guru that the Hindus were able to have their religious and personal freedom from the Mougul State.

This statement in Canada comes as no surprise to the Sikhs,as their forefathers have been doing the same betrayals ever since the times of the Gurus.Be it the Hindu Bhaman Pahari Kings who sided and egged on the Mouguls to attack our 10th Guru,to Chandu,Gangu who betrayed the house of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.

When Hindu girls were being kidnapped in their thousands and were taken to the Bazaars of Ghazni & Iraq it was the Sikhs who rescued them and bought them back home to their fathers. It was the Sikhs who established the Golden Age in Panjab with Khalsa Raaj be it Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur or Maharaja Ranjit Singh - whos empire fell due to the treachery of the Bhaman Dogras. When it came to free British India Sikhs gave over 90% of the sacrifices to free British India,in return we were classed as a 'Criminal Race' in 1947 by Hindu Fanatic Patel & Nehru.

The Fanatical Hindutva RSS lobby today tries to destroy the Sikh Faith in every way shape and form, and are active in a smear campaign against Sikhs ever since British India was given Independence in 1947.In 1984 the Hindu State declared War & Genocide on the Khalsa Panth and Sikhs the killing and rape of thousands of girls occurred. The destruction of Sri Akal Takht Sahib & 40 other Gurdwareh the burning of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharajs saroops ,Burning of Sikh infants,Men,Women and Gurdwareh across India scared every Sikh of Conscience in the World.

When the Freedom Movement was growing and India and the Hindu Fanatics/India could not suppress it.They decided to bomb their own Airline - Air India over the skies of Ireland. This was a clear attempt to make Western Nations crack down on the Sikhs and the freedom movement of Khalistan!Which is a legitimate movement for Self Determination under International Law.

The rise in Anti Sikh Cults in Panjab,to the killing of innocent Sikhs be it peacefully protesting or in fake encounters, continues in an effort to crush the Sikh Spirit. The propaganda campaign also continues with the odd news flash about Sikhs joining with Al Qaeda from Indian News to this latest - PATHETIC STATEMENT by the Hindu Advocacy Group, which the UK Sikh Community condemns in the most strongest manner.

Mr Banarjee tries to equate the Sikh Freedom Movement with Nazi Germany. This is strange as his fellow Hindu Fanatics in India as well as agents in foreign nations support Hindutva groups who take Hitler to be an inspiration and want to establish Hindutva - Hindi,Hindu,Hindustan based on the pure race ideology.Mr Banarjee needs to check he hasn't got his head mixed up with those members of his own Hindu Community who carry forward this hate ideology. He talks of Genocide? In Panjab?Genocide of who?Hindus?

When the Hindu Fauj/Army of India attacked Sri Harmandar Sahib and raped our women and shot our boys and men,did Sikhs carry out a genocide on Hindus? NO!

Yet when two Sikh Heroes Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh & Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh eliminated the genocidal daughter of a Pandit Indira Gandhi - Sikhs faced a genocide on such a sickening scale that our fellow Sikh Brothers were fed to dogs on the streets of Delhi.

Khalistan will be based on democracy and freedom just as in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Raj.Equating Khalistan with Nazi Germany is a DIRECT ATTACK on the Sikh Ideology as well as that our Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji & the 10 Gurus - Who preached equality & freedom which the Sikhs always make sure they protect as our history shows be it for Hindus,Muslims,Christians,Dalits and others.

Mr Banarjee needs to look at what his fellow Hindutva supporting Hindus have done in India to Christians,Muslims,Sikhs,Kashmiris,Nagas,Manipuris,Dalits and others by destroying their places of worship and committing genocide on them in open day light.

Dal Khalsa International recently called for a ban on the RSS and Hindutva groups in India and we stand by our statement.Dal Khalsa UK exposed the RSS/Hindutva ideology to the UK Sikh Community in 2007 as well as other communities and members of the UK Parliament & House Of Lords and we will continue to do so.

This JOKE of a statement by the Hindu Advocacy will have no affect on the ideology of the Sikhs nor will it stop us from wearing our articles of faith as given to us by our Gurus. The laws of the land protect these sacred articles of faith in Canada.

The Hindutvadis have to understand that they cannot oppress the Sikhs in the Western World and nor can they stop our FREEDOM OF SPEECH and promotion of Sikh Human Rights and Khalistan.

This defamation attempt to try scare politicians and the common Canadian is a failed attempt by a Hateful Fanatical Fascist, Nazi, Hindutva supporting group and their members. We hope those with their heads screwed on in the Hindu Community of Canada will come out and condemn this statement which does nothing to better relations between Hindus & Sikhs rather it will cause more division and problems.

''Physical Death I Do Not Fear Death Of A Conscience Is A Sure Death''

Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale - The Greatest Sikh Of The 20th Century As Declared By The Supreme Sikh Authority Sri Akal Takt Sahib Amritsar.

The Sikhs will never let their conscience die ,let this be a direct message to those involved in the Hindu Advocacy and Hindutva Lobby.

    • There are only 4 castes in India and Jatt isn't one of them. "Jatt" is a sub-community within a caste, not a caste itself. And we (I'm jatt so don't call me offensive lol) aren't even that high, we only rank 3rd out of the 4 castes but have become very respected due to our presence in Punjabi media and the amount of land we own as a community. How is being proud of being Jatt "wrong" in Sikhi - we're not proud of our "caste" (we can't be cos it's not even a high one lol). If anything, Jatts have helped beat the Indian caste system. We literally rose from its bottom to people admiring our lifestyle. So "Jatt" shouldn't be a taboo topic in Sikhi until it becomes one (eg: making "Jatt Gurdware" like Tarkhans did)
    • Try your local Gurdwara, I don't know about you but one of my local ones actually has a board for it. And for some reasons a lot of Granthis out here double up as like the Pind matchmaker. I recommend you go for it but it IS sorta funny to those not looking at getting involved, it's like Name: Jaspreet Kaur  Family Background: Jatt Sikh (Amritdhari) Job: Finance manager  or  Name: Gurpreet Singh Family Background: Ramgarhia Sikh Job: Teacher
    • Anyone linking the "kenyan" style turban to Ramgarhia caste is stupid lol. It came from the Jat-only Sikh Regiment in British India (folded, starched single dastar without a pinch). It's called "kenyan style" as Kenya is where it's most popular today and has a lot of Tarkhan living there but it's originally from Jatts in India. Dastar actually opposes caste as a concept anyway so it really doesn't matter.
    • you can use nrimb.com this matrimonial site is very helpful to find Sikhs and other matches for marriage in Canada.
    • Is there a need to insult someone's Dastar style? Feel some shame When you see a Sikh wearing a Dastar you should smile and think "that's my brother" ,not laugh at how he chose to tie his Pagh. Maharaj made a brotherhood in the Khalsa not a fashion contest.
