THE MAIN PART OF EVERY RELIGION OR THE WAY OF LIFE STARTS WITH A REVELEATION A HOLY BOOK OR A GUIDE TO WAY OF LIFE..

AS for SIKHISM it is GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI..

can you explain how can it be the way of life..?

Sure if you ask the guru (read what is written in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) you will get the answer.

Sikh and you shall find my friend ;)

if you want me to give you link to an english translation of SGGS Ji let me know

Guru Hargobind (1595-1644)

  • Transformed the Sikhs by introducing martial arts and weapons for the defense of the masses.
  • Guru Hargobind put on two swords - one signifying miri (secular power) and other piri (spiritual power).
  • Built the Akal Takht in 1608 at Amritsar in Punjab.
  • He was imprisoned in the fort of Gwaliar for one year. When he was released he insisted that his 52 fellow prisoners, who were Rajput kings, should also be set free. To mark this occasion the Sikhs celebrate Diwali (bandi chod divas).
  • Fought four battles with the Mughal rulers which were forcing people to become Muslims.

MY FRIEND YOU MUST HAVE GOT YOUR ANSWER

one of the famous Guru's marked and celebrated hindu festival than how can u expect others to strictly follow sikhism

(most of the scholars say that sikhism is a one single religion its neither a mixture of hinduism nor islam)

when you have permission to celebrate diwali from one of our guru's then visiting temples and doing Idol worship is a minor thing..

this was the answer 4 ur 2nd question

and abotu the 1st question its thinking of people which creates caste God or Religion is not the reason behind it..

:)

peace

I KINDLY REQUEST THE ADMIN PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THIS POST THIS IS MY 5 TH ATTEMPT U HAVE ALREADY DELETED 4 POST OF MINE

AND I ALSO REQUEST THE MEMBERS DO NOT REPORT MY POST IF U THINK ITS THE MATTER OF FAITH THEN COME AND HAVE A DEBATE

CZ I PREFER CHALLENGE NOT MOVE BACK

:)

PATIENCE AND REPENTENCE GOD IS ENOUGH FOR US

LOL your statement didnt make any sense. We Sikhs don't celebrate Bandi Chor Diwas in celebration of Ram. You yourself stated the purpose for why we celebrate Diwali and yet you are criticizing it. You just totally contradicted yourself!

Basically this guy is agreeing with dharmic faiths as opposed to abrahamic faiths. Sikhism teaches that God is within us all yes even the evil doers. Time after time the guru ji's have stated the world is a play and we are the puppets of the lord even in the bhagvad geeta (hindu holy book) i believe from what I have read this is also stated. Once we can get our head around this concept we are free from all stresses of life we can begin to see the bigger picture and become observers of the world and appreciate and understand Sikh philosophy more.

From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad? (SGGS Ji Ang 1349)

He is the life of the soul in each and every soul; He permeates and pervades each and every heart. (SGGS Ji Ang 1273)

peacentdisease :

Kindly stop hurting the brain of myself and others on this forum by posting useless nonsense. First go learn english before you want to debate in english. Secondly read post #37, understand it and then stop what you're doing. Once you get better educated and debate worthy please come back and try again, better yet realise what you are doing is wrong.

Also you can hardly call this a troll.. This is just some guy being totally ignorant and illmannered.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
