it was on last night, did anyone see it? There were these poeple called inuits living in the artic circle, and the only food they had was whale and seal to eat. watching it brought this question into my mind, What if these people wanted to become Sikhs?

Or do you think that God intended that some poeple/communities could never ever become sikhs?

If they were given access to information about Sikhi (history, teachings, etc) and they decided it was for them, I don't see why not. Although wouldn't the 'no meat' prohibition leave them a bit hungry, especially considering their natural environment and way of life?

If it's in their karam to become Sikhs, they will, and find ways of upholding Rehat. We change ourselves to become Sikhs, not change Sikhi to suit our circumstances.

Absolutely. So any inuit who wishes to become a Sikh, must do ardasa that global warming completely destroys the ice-cap, so that lush green fertile fields will replace the ice, so he can plough the land to grow wheat. And save himself.

or move to panjab.

But what about the thousands and thousands of millions of inuits that passed before him, why didnt God give thenm a chance to save themselves, by at least giving one field for them to grow wheat to feed themselves, without having to go the hell?

Actually, we could apply this to some places in africa as well.

First look into why Sikhs don't eat meat, read quotes from Gurbani. From my understanding it's to realize there is God prevailing in all of the creation, from an ant to an elephant. By being a vegetarian you respect Waheguru and The Creation. By extending compassion to all living beings you progress spiritually and your thinking and views on the Universe change entirely.

In my opinion, if you needed to eat meat to sruvive (a matter of life and death) it would be a need, not a choice. A Sikh Khalsa has a duty to protect everything that is right.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji said that those who waste their time deciding on whether or not to eat meat are foolish. He did not eat meat' date=' and neither did the other Gurus. Guru Har Rai Ji was sad when his robe trampled a few flowers, yet Guru Gobind Singh Ji told us Sikhs to fight the forces of Aurangzeb and we did so (thus killing many Mussalmans along the way). Why shed blood when it is inhumane. Becuase killing of an animal or any living organism should only be done when it is necessary. Meat is not essential for survival, so some people believe it should not be eaten. The Gurus only killed when necessary; Guru Gobind Singh Ji only killed others to protect basic human rights, mainly religious beliefs. One should only eat meat when it is necessary for survival, otherwise different choices should be taken. But, over this, one should concentrate on the Guru's Hukam. Sadhna Ji was a butcher, and he had to be in order to survive. Nobody said that he enjoyed killing, but that it was simply his profession. If you think it unjust to kill something, consider why you worship the Guru Granth when Sadhna Ji's bani is part of it. The only reason to kill is for necessities, not for pleasure. Kill only when it is necessary for survival. This was taught by all the Gurus, especially from Guru Arjun Dev Ji (he did not personally kill, but he encouraged the building of a Sikh army) and onward. Bodies are gifts of God, and so we must respect all of them. They are our way of reaching God, and the way of others. Guru Ji indirectly says that we must kill only for three reasons: self-defense, when meat is all that is available, and justice. Only when the soul within the body should be punished is the body destroyed (when talking of humans). WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH![/b']
