Prem Dang Jado Vajjeya

This is a mere attempt at trying to pen down the pain of a heart pining for Vaheguru. I am nowhere close to that avastha, but just wishing, and therefore imagining the plight of such a heart. This is written to the rhythm of an old Yamla Jatt song.

ਜਦ ਵੱਜਿਆ ਮਲੰਗ ਫੇਰ ਭੱਜਿਆ

ਪੀ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਰੱਜ ਰਜਿਆ

ਹੋਇਆ ਮਸਤ ਮਸਤ ਬੜਾ ਸੱਜਿਆ

ਨਾ ਤੂੰ ਦੀਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ

ਪੈਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਮੈਂ ਚੁਣਦਾ

ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਦਾ ਨਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਜਚਦਾ

ਖਾਦਾ ਪੀਤਾ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਚੱਜ ਨਾਲ ਪੱਚਦਾ

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਡੰਗ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਜਿਆ

ਜਦ ਵੱਜਿਆ ਮਲੰਗ ਫੇਰ ਭੱਜਿਆ

ਨੀਂਦ ਕਦੋਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨੱਸ ਗੀ

ਰੱਬ ਜਾਣੇ ਹੁਣ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਫੱਸ ਗੀ

ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਮੰਜੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬਦਲ ਬਦਲ

ਹੰਝੂ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੇਰ ਕਤਲ ਕਤਲ

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਡੰਗ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਜਿਆ

ਜਦ ਵੱਜਿਆ ਮਲੰਗ ਫੇਰ ਭੱਜਿਆ

ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੌਖੀਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕਾ

ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਜੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਜੇ ਕਾਲਕਾ

ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬੰਧ ਹੁਣ ਫੱਟਿਆ

ਸਭ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਕੱਟਿਆ

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਡੰਗ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਜਿਆ

ਜਦ ਵੱਜਿਆ ਮਲੰਗ ਫੇਰ ਭੱਜਿਆ

ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਕੇ ਡੁਬਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਤਰ ਜਾਨਾ ਵੇ

ਕਿਨਾਂ ਕਰਾਂ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਵੇ

ਮੁਕਾ ਛੱਡ ਏਸ ਲੰਬੇ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੂੰ

ਚੱਕ ਪਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਡੰਗ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਜਿਆ

ਜਦ ਵੱਜਿਆ ਮਲੰਗ ਫੇਰ ਭੱਜਿਆ

ਮੇਰੇ ਡੇਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੀ ਜਾਇਆ ਕਰ

ਕਦੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤੇ ਥੋੜਾ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਇਆ ਕਰ

ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਨਾ ਚਤੱਰ ਚਲਾਕ ਕੋਈ

ਜਿੰਦ ਮੇਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹਲਾਕ ਹੋਈ

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਡੰਗ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਜਿਆ

ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਟ ਪਿੱਟ

ਜੀਭ ਮੇਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਸਭ ਬੋਲਦਾ

ਰਿਂਹਦਾ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਰਾਜ਼ ਨਾ ਤੂੰ ਖੋਲਦਾ

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਡੰਗ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਜਿਆ

ਜਦ ਵੱਜਿਆ ਮਲੰਗ ਫੇਰ ਭੱਜਿਆ

ਪੰਚੇ ਸਬਦ ਵਜੇ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਅਨਹਦੁ ਵਜਿਆ ॥

The Panch Shabad, the Five Primal Sounds, vibrate with the Wisdom of the Guru's Teachings; by great good fortune, the Unstruck Melody resonates and resounds.

ਆਨਦ ਮੂਲੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਗਜਿਆ ॥

I see the Lord, the Source of Bliss, everywhere; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord of the Universe is revealed.

ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਵੇਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭਜਿਆ ॥

From the primal beginning, and throughout the ages, the Lord has One Form. Through the Wisdom of the Guru's Teachings, I vibrate and meditate on the Lord God.

ਹਰਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਨ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਜਿਆ ॥

O Merciful Lord God, please bless me with Your Bounty; O Lord God, please preserve and protect the honor of Your humble servant.

ਸਭਿ ਧੰਨੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਪੜਦਾ ਕਜਿਆ ॥੭॥

Let everyone proclaim: Blessed is the Guru, the True Guru, the Guru, the True Guru; meeting Him, the Lord covers their faults and deficiencies. ||7||
