I saw this picture and inquired about it and was told it was called an asthbhuja, which means 8 blades like shiva (or something to that extent) and the person who trained the sahibzaday used to wear this and it used to be the bindi of a hindu diety. The person holding it is supposedly also the one who knows the most about shaster at Sachkhand Hazur Sahib and is somehow related to this person/Guudwara(?)

The Asth Bhuja-Dhuja, this was the battle standard of Guru Gobin Singh Ji,it it mentioned in Niddar Singhs book " In the The Masters Presence". The book describes how the original owner of the standard is Chandi. The standard along with a Sword were given to Guru Gobind Singh Ji as a gift according to local history.

huh.gif I see.

The book has a lot of blasphemous things written in it to be honest.

That does not however make everything wrong, even in the eyes of mainstream sikhs.

Yes the Asht Bhuja-Dhuja was guru gobind singhs battle standard. More information can be found in Nihang Niddar Singhs book, but ov course it is up to you whether you consider it to be true or not.

You can always get in contact with someone who can go to Hazur Sahib and ask directly.

Funny how the hindu supporting Santhanists pop up when it comes to these things which crept in at Ranjit Singhs time be it battle standards, hanuman paintings or the overall hinduization of Sikhi,In my personal belief this has nothing to do with the 10th Guru or Sikhism - look at where it is for a start Hazoor Sahib built by Ranjit Singh in Maharashtra Abchal Nagar - with major Hindu influence you just have to visit it to see what outragous stuff goes on.

All in all this has nothing to do with the Panth - as per Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Pure Sikh Ideology -

They say that this Chandi woman/godess actually flew down from somwhere and gave it out our Guru what a load of BS
