In the Uk right now there is just SO MUCH fear in the community. Fear of fighting, fear of being arrested, fear of going prison, fear of being looked down on because you got in trouble with the law, fear of being killed/stabbed, fear of jeopardising career opportunities.

There wasn't this much fear when the NF were rampaging in the 70s & 80s. You used to have some people stepping up regardless of the physical and legal risks involved. What happened?

If Sikhs have molded themselves into Law abiding good citizens then no need to complain ,because only poison can kill poison

Okay, but when that goes to the extent that it begins to appear as if our people are pushovers and cowardly, that brings its own problems which demoralise everyone, no matter how financially successful the community might get. It's even worse when so much noise is made of our 'warrior' pedigree but we are less capable of defending it on a street level than Paks or Jamaicans.

But you're right. No need to complain, we made our bed, we have to lie in it now.

On a personal level, if that happened infront of me, I would get off the bus with the 'Singh' and give him a lecture, that what the hell,

and proberly grassed him upto the Police :p

Im preety sure the singh did not voluntarly allow chicken bones to be placed on his dastar. He must have been picked upon by the black youths. He must have felt intimidated by a group who most probably wanted to cause trouble. They may have just thrown the bones on him, without his consent. Some guys can handle themselves some can't, some would have sorted them out, but remember doesnt matter how big or strong you are if theres a group of trouble makers who may or may not be carrying knives, or other weapons is it worth the risk if you are one and a gang of them. Also the thing is if he is illegal he may not wanted to risk being arrested if there was a fight.

@RSingh96 - If you were on the bus they may have ignored him and singled you out, you may have also faced the same treatment and not him. Would you have liked him to get of the bus with you and give you a lecture OR would you have wanted your sikh brother to help you and stick up for and confront the trouble makers?

I am really surprised by the comments .People here are discussing what style of pagg to wear may be the next step is just attach it so tightly so no one can remove them. The victims are here are at no fault there is no way an unarmed Sikh could defeat 5 drunken white men in face to face fight.Strength lies in numbers The best way to deal with these cases is make Sikh pride groups Just go after the culprits catch 1 or two of them and beat ,insult them like blacken their face or anything.Make sure next time they will remember that insulting a singh could backfire them.If our soormey can fight in gurdwarey then they should be able to fight them on streets.

yea ur rite but when Guru Jee said "seva lakh se ek laro" im sure Guru Jee ment strength in numbers to be honest its our parents fault they want us to be lawyers or doctors but wats the point having millions if u gonna have you besti done infront of ur singhni or sons and daughters

sikh pride groups ? come on khalsa jeo this is not batman and robin

look at the video below

WJKK WJKF

The sheer imatuarity on this thread is unbeleivable-- Pagg style doesn't matter - as long as you have one is the key isn't it?

secondly what's under the paag - the brain -- needs to be educated enough to know why the're wearing it or not?

thirdly -- what's being done about it?? does anyone know , which Gurdwara is taking steps on this - there are more than 3 in Ilford??? and a couple in Southampton???

easy to talk judgemental -- it's our right as turban wearing to talk and ask any gora you meet " btw which faith do you think i belong to? and then do your bit for Sikhee.....
