Fitness Exercises Used By Erstwhile Khalsa Army

Recommended Posts

Guru Hargobind Ji was known for his great wrestling ability. So more than likely wrestling related exercises (e.g. Dand Behtaks) would have formed a mainstay of the Khalsa fauj.

Does anyone have any idea about how good kettlebells would be for building super strength and how to buy the ones that would be the perfect match for u - heavy so that they stress you muscles but not so heavy that you are not able to work out and waste your money . They should nt be light at all else they wont be any use

I have a recorded Katha about Sri Guru Hargobind Singh Ji and how much of an amazing warrior he was. It is said he was very large in height and his pat (leg thighs) were comparable to the size of a man. The kashera of Guru Sahib was huge.

I'll upload it later, it might have some useful info in it.

Sahib Guru Gobind Singh Ji was tall but he wasn't as tall as Guru Hargobind Sahib ji.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji was able to use two kirpans to slice arrows during combat, Guru Ji was an amazing swordsman and bowman. There's a reason two assassins sent by the Mughals failed. One failed and got killed by Guru Ji and the other ran off and got killed by Singhs outside the tent.

When you say failed. I have read that Guru Ji did survive the attack but was wounded, which lead to Sat Guru Ji's physical body leaving this world a short time later. Is that what you meant by failed?

They failed, Guru Ji was antar jami all knowing.

He prepared before he was going to leave and could have got the wound restitched after his wound opened up while stringing the bow no Singh at the camp could string.
