NEW DELHI - After nearly 26 years of relentless battle for justice to victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, advocate H.S. Phoolka Tuesday withdrew from all cases following allegations that he had been making personal gains.

Phoolka's decision follows allegation by the president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Paramjit Singh Sarna that the advocate had 'wasted' the money in the course of the campaign.

PATIALA: A seven member Political Affairs Wing (PAW) of Dera Sacha Sauda Saheb (Sirsa) Sunday issued a directive to its followers to cast their each and every vote in favour of the Congress candidates in Patiala, Sangrur, Mansa and Barnala Districts in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha polls scheduled to be held on February 13. <br sourceindex="174"><br sourceindex="175"><br sourceindex="176"><br sourceindex="177">

The PAW comprises Jagjit Singh Mann, Raj Singh Kingra, Gurbaz Singh Husnar, Ram Singh Aspalkalan, Major Singh Dhaliwal, Jagjit singh Randhawa and Ramkaran Bhawanigarh <br sourceindex="179"><br sourceindex="180">

I tell you what, that highly strung, politicised Sikhi that can border on the paranoiac can be a bit too much for a brother sometimes. It's like seeing Hindu bogeymen everywhere.

We need to take a little step back for a while and work on improving the social cohesion between ourselves. Achieving that successfully (alone) would increase our power tenfold. Instead, we are in danger (hypothetically) of transferring lots of petty, horrible fissures into a vulnerable Khalistan with God knows what consequences.

Out of the 2 evils, who is the lesser. It has to be the Akali Dal and Badal lot.

Could we seriously support a Party, that still has in its membership and in senior positions those that were responsible for the November 84 Massacres. If the Congress party wants the support of Sikhs, they need to apologise for 1984 and onwards and then kick out those members that have been identified as leading the massacres from there party, to start with.

I am saying Captain Amrinder Singh is a better man for the job than Badal. Atleast Amrinder Singh wasen't behind the 1984 attack on Harimandir Sahib, Badal was.

Do you really want Badal as the leader of Punjab?

In addition there is a difference between the Congress of Delhi and the Congress in Punjab.

Are either parties ideal to lead Punjab? No. Akali Dal are a bunch of fools destroying Sikhi from the inside out. Congress will do nothing for the state of Sikhs.

We need real Sikhs to be involved in politics and bring a real change. Don't hope that because the Akali Dal is in power Khalistan might one day be possible. India is a democratic country, the Akali Dal could have a held a referendum in Punjab asking if the people wanted a a sovereign country anytime during their rule as the Part Quebecois did twice in Quebec Canada. Just because the Akali Dal are in power it does not bring Khalistan any closer to reality.

Sure the Punjab Congress was behind the thousands of innocent Sikhs illegaly imprisoned, raped, tortured, killed, and under normal circustances should be demolished beyond resurection, but right now they are a way better choice than the Akali Dal. The Akali Dal are screwed up beyond words to describe.
