Some Singhs from up North met the Jathedaars last night at Shepherd's Bush Gurdwara. I hear they fully endorsed the Satkaar Campaign, and the Singhs said they have this on video.

On Monday night, the Jathedaars were asked to take strict action against Dudley, and they they gave an undertaking that they will write a letter to the Dudley committee once they are back in India, asking for the committee to stop or pesh at akaal takht.

It's the turn of the "Sikh Media" now to start advertising the protest. Hopefully, they will step up to do this soon.

Sounds like Dudley Committee Wale once again flexing its muscles and endless resources to promote there agenda.....I wouldn't be suprised if they bring the heavies in at the rally.....the lengths and determination they are going to side step any rules to satisfy there thirst and hunger for maas and sharab and to keep both the gurdwara and the centre in there control is amazing!!!

This is a direct attack on Sikhi by these masands! It is the duty of all Sikhs young & old to show their support in numbers next Saturday and let it be known that this type of beadbee will no longer be tolerated anywhere in the UK.

A huge bentee to everyone out there...please ensure you attend in large numbers!

Press Release and Sangat Update

Dudley, UK - 22 May 2011

www.SatkaarCampaign.blogspot.com

Akal Takhat Sahib Jathedaar confirms 2006 Sandesh still applies

Clarification on letter to Ramgarhia Sikh Temple, Birmingham

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

As the UK Sangat may be aware, 5 Singh Sahibaan (including Jathedaar of Akal Takhat Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji) were present in the UK in the last week. The UK Sangat took this opportunity to seek the support and encouragement of Akal Takhat Sahib's Jathedaar for the Satkaar Campaign. Sevadaars have been informed that the Jathedaar gave statements supporting the Satkaar Campaign in Derby on Saturday 14 May, in Gravesend on Sunday 15 May, in West Bromwich on Monday 16 May and in Central London at Central Gurwara (Khalsa Jatha) on Wednesday 18 May 2011.

Importantly, the Jathedaar and his PA, Bhai Jaswinder Pal Singh Ji, confirmed that the 2006 Sandesh still applies in full force, and it is not superseded in any way by a letter from Akal Takhat Sahib to Ramgarhia Sikh Temple, Birmingham dated 31 March 2011. This letter is attached below:

As the Sangat will see, this letter is very vague and it does not suggest that the 2006 Sandesh has been revoked. Unfortunately, we are aware that certain Gurdwara committees may be seeking to use this letter to continue justifying/re-starting their Manmat of permitting meat, alcohol, tobacco, parties and dancing on Gurdwara premises. We alluded to this letter in our Press Release of 5 May 2011, though as the Sangat will see, Bhai Jaswinder Pal Singh Ji (who is also the signatory of the letter to Ramgarhia Sikh Temple, Birmingham) clarifies beyond doubt that this letter does not undermine the 2006 Sandesh and that it still applies in full force, in the video below:

Rather than seeking to find clever ways to justify having meat, alcohol, tobacco, parties and dancing on Gurdwara premises, we would once again humbly request the relevant offending Gurdwara committees to come within the Gurmat-fold. This also applies to the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara committee, where the UK Sangat is reminded of, and requested to attend on Saturday 28 May 2011 from 2pm, a peaceful protest against a meat and alcohol party being held at GNSS Dudley Gurdwara.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
