On behalf of the UK Sangat, sewadaars would like to re-iterate the PEACEFUL nature of the Rally to be held at 2pm on Saturday 28 May 2011 outside Gurdwara Guru Nanak Singh Sabha, 118 Wellington Road, Dudley. DY1 1UB.

Sewadaars of the Campaign are in continuous dialogue with West Midlands Police working towards a respectful and peaceful gathering. Please keep us informed regarding coaches and mini-buses so that we are able to appropriately advise West Midlands Police about parking and effective use of their resource.

Protocol for Peaceful Anti-Beadbi Rally at GNSS Dudley on Saturday 28 May 2011.

Sikhs are requested to start gathering at the Guru Nanak Singh Sabha Dudley Gurdwara at 2pm sharp.

A large Sikh presence is requested to show the GNSS Dudley Committee that the UK Sikh Sangat has been deeply hurt by the sacrilege that is being permitted and promoted by the Committee of allowing meat, alcohol and tobacco within the Gurdwara's premises. This is strictly against an edict given by Akal Takhat Sahib (the highest decision-making/spiritual authority for Sikhs) in its 2006 Sandesh to the entire Sikh Nation.

All Sikhs attending are requested to observe and note the following Protocol.

- Sikhs must join in and take part in the Naam Simiran, Mool Mantra, Chaupai Sahib Jaap that is intended to take place on the day, so that the Khalsa Panth receives blessings from Guru Ji to prevent all this Beadbi happening.

- Sikhs must show restraint and conduct themselves respectfully even when addressing the Gurdwara Committee members and their supporters, the Police or any attendees of the Party. Do not engage in any arguments or debates.

- The power of Sikh Community (men and women, old and young) turning up in large numbers, showing solidarity and restraint, adhering to Guru Ji's principles, will portray a stronger message to this Committee and the other Gurdwara Committees who allow this Beadbi to happen on a weekly basis in Gurdwara properties.

- Sikh and non-Sikh media will be present for you to voice your concerns to the wider Community.

- Support those Gursikhs who will be taking a lead on the day.

- The Sikh Community from across the UK will be uniting to attempt to stop this Beadbi from happening on the day, though Sikhs attending must understand that there still may not be a resolution during the rally. Along with the blessings of Guru Ji, the Sikh Sangat's continued and ongoing support and vigilance will be required to ensure the success of the Satkaar Campaign

- Intimidation or violent behaviour will NOT be tolerated. Do not come looking intimidating i.e., do not wear hoodies or any face coverings. No swearing or slogans will be permitted. To show solidarity please wear blue Dastaars, Rumallas and Chunnis

FINALLY, REMEMBER, you will be representing the roop of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj.

The protest will be peaceful because the singhs and singhnis attending will be fully focused on Kirtan, Simiran and Katha and Chaupai Sahib Paths. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will bless those who recite Gurbani and in turn stand up for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

May I request that you persuade through dialogue ,not coerce through intimidatory tactics like enlisting large numbers of people!

They have tried to appease you by transferring ownership ,yet you still pressure them.

I do not support any particular activity,I feel this is a matter for Dudley,not Coventry or West Bromwich .

If you are lions why do you need large numbers Lions don,t do this be brave speak leaders to leaders.

These people at Dudley, as they did at Grays, will try to provoke the sangat into a reaction for which they will then seek to label the sangat as extremist Sikhs. Let's not fall for their games. Being disciplined and showing Gursikh virtues and values will send a much more powerful message, than indiscipline, swearing and shouting at the Dudley committee.

Mr Medare - I think you must have cucumber on your eyes or something. 3 meetings have been held held or been attempted to be held over the last 3 or so months to explain to them through dialogue.

Meeting 1: By Satkaar Sevadaars - the committee ended up getting very abusive to the youth.

Meeting 2: By all West Midlands Gurdwara leaders - at first the committee refused to meet, and then only did so for a short while after keeping the parbandhiks waiting for more than an hour. At this meeting, the Dudley committee knowingly gave false promises, which they immediately broke the next day.

Meeting 3: This was again going to be arranged by the police, though the committee said they did not want to meet the Gurdwara leaders.

The Dudley committee have refused dialogue or to listen to the Sikh sangat or akal takht. Peaceful protest has only arisen after all other means have failed.

They have listened by not allowing the Hall to be in the same name,why do they need the police,is it because you are intimidating them,imposing your views on them .

The majority imposing there will or there interpretation of conventions to be adhered to ,on the minority is not quite right.

Bhaji, there has been months of dialogue with th GNSS Gurdwara. This has been led by Representatives of Midlands Gurdwaras who have taken a very respectful approach it attempting to resolve the situation and have also taken the initiative to include the police to mediate. All proactive steps have been taken by Gurdwara representatives and Satkaar Sevadaars. On the other hand GNSS Dudley have avoided, misrepresented and refused to meet and work towards adhering to Akal Takht Maryada. Over the campaign, there has been only one protest, Satkaar Sevadaars have tried their upmost to avoid such protests and I am sure they still are working towards avoiding the protest, but GNSS are adamant to have the party on the 28th. There will be no other optuion but to peacefully protest on that day.
