Women Allowed To Do Kirtan In Darbar Sahib

I was watching punjabi news this morning and i'm sure that they said the rules have been changed and women can now do kirtan in Darbar Sahib. I think I may have made a misunderstanding though because no body else seems to know anything about this, has anybody also heard this news??

I didn't know this either, but i guess since know bibi jis went to perform kirtan there i guess it is true.

Does anyone know why this was?

Let's hope anti-Sikh elements don't get a hold of this, or they'll start throwing around accusations of hypocricacy. This really shouldn't have been an issue, especially for a faith that espouses equality across the board.
