Sikh Channel & Dudley Protest

Recommended Posts

All you jokers who think that Sikh Channel gave footage to the Police need serious help - these rumours started yesterday before the youth show and are complete rubbish. Ask respectable people like Mohan Singh, Randhir Singh, etc if these bs rumours are true.

Please stop wasting energy on fighting between each other when you have zero evidence. Panthic have also lost the plot - they hate every single top parcharak like Gyani Takhur Singh, Baba Hari Singh Randavavale, etc

Take a step out the bubble and think what's actually happening; we're all starting to point the finger at each other before the biggest remembrance demonstration by diverting ourselves from the real issues (playing into the real enemies hands).

Thats what I said earlier Lion of Punjab. Those so called party sikhs that were in that party hall in Dudley (men and women) should be named and shamed. Their photos should be made available for every Sikh in the west midlands to see. Their neighbours, sisters, cousins, uncles, nephews and neices should see what these relatives of theirs did.

I request every Sikh that was there on Saturday...who either witnessed the police brutality or was on the recieving end of it...to get in touch with the independant police complaints commission. To me...it seems like the tactical commander...head of the operation was probably someone who hated Sikhs on a personal level. probably some kind of self loathing asian....because generally white police commanders do not deploy special ops police to police religious demonstrations (the uniform of the police with dogs, in the pictures, shows they are the special ops teams that are normally only deployed on armed drug raids etc. These people are not trained in the niceties of community policing nor do they practice community policing). Someone...at the head of this police deployment....was not only ready for trouble but went actively looking for it). http://www.ipcc.gov.uk/en/Pages/default.aspx

ain't these the same people that wern't told beforehand by Avtar that he was gonna broadcast the sensationalist footage ???

So what's changed in the last 24 hours. Has he now decided to tell them everything he does including what colour underpants he's wearing or are they lying and were actually privy and part of the decision to broadcast the footage on saturday night ?

You see...no matter which way you look at it Sikh Channel can't wipe away the tutti smell from its clothing. Its in too deep.

If what is alleged happened in the pantic article the police should be taken to task regarding their conduct. Every singh and kaur who was at the event needs to file a strong complaint in regards to what happened. Also the backing of major Sikh organisations should be sort so that the community is behind you once that happens we can get the masses out in the streets if the institutional racist authoriterian police dare to confront the community again in a similar manor other communities may taking it laying down but not the Sikhs we have a proud history of proactively protesting injustice. It would also be a great oppertunity to militantise and politise the British Sikh community to stand up to racist and elitist British establishment for its ungratefulness they have shown for sacrifice of 100,000 Sikh soldiers who served in both world wars against Britians foes and the crimes the British establisment commited against Sikh nation from 1843 to 1947 onwards.

Just for everyones info the little birdy mentioned previously has gone back to the source who has said that a sikh channel staff member told them but will not mention any names. Suppose it is utter BULL TATTI and Sikh Channel haven't given up the tapes to the PO PO. Just think about this then and who the real jokers are,

If you broadcast something on tv you need to retain a copy of it just in case any formal public complaint to OFCOM is made, ask the weird and wonderful staff at Sikh channel this. Now they put that video up, so now the bacon rashers are probably aware of that recording also due to snitches like some of the people on this forum who don't like what happened, if not Avtar Seon himself. Plus they monitor these kind of forums too.

So if they approach the channel with a court order for the tape the SC muppets have to hand it over as someone already mentioned, hardly think Avtar or Bal would decline especially after the comment and thoughts that Sikh Channel representatives have expressed in word and over the net (see the panthic article and the comment posted up on their facebook thingy)

At the end of the day doesn't matter if they have given it before or will do in the future, the damage has already been done in the eyes of the wider community by them showing that tape completely out of context.

Plus nobody is fighting here, fight night was already aired on saturday on the Peoples Channel sky 840, did you miss it, :tongue2:? This is just verbal jostling!

The march will not stop either because of this whole mess of Sikh channel airing a segment of the video. It will still happen, people will just walk away from their cameras knowing that if something happens later on in the day for a small proportion of the actual day and Sikh Channel air the video trying to do the whole 'worlds first exclusive' thing again, they may become famous through police charges and a mugshot in the local papers, :biggrin2:

When the media is invited or attends, it is up to the Organisers of the demonstration to speak to the media and decide what is filmed and what is not. The organisers could have easily stopped the crew from filming, as can be seen on a number of occasions in the mainstream media, where camers are blocked. The organiser should have spoken or briefed the media and then followed up. So although the media is to blame, by not showing any responsibility, so are the organisers. Lets hope that the Satkar campaign learn from this incident and move forward.

I think the Satkaar campaign were allowing filming to occur because they wanted to show everyone their peaceful protest in full flow. The videos of young and old alike doing Jaap together would've been a powerful image of resistance and protest without the need for violence. They weren't to know something was going to kick off in the way it did. Maybe that's naivety on their part, but personally I never expected the occupants of the cultural centre to goad the sangat with plates of meat and bhangra songs, etc. That isn't excusing those who broke away from the protest and took matters into their own hands, but everybody has their own levels of tolerance.

The tapes can always go missing by mistake or recoded over - we can put it down to a 'desi mistake' they can't prove nothing- even if they are reading this now - without proof nothing lol

:laugh2:

Very true.

There is still time for Sikh Channel to fix up and do some damage limitation in our own community regardless of whether they have given up the tapes or not. Maybe run a piece on the whole thing showing the other side of the protest also with people on the panel that can talk about the issues mentioned here also.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
