Who Is Bhai Jetha Singh Ji?

Recommended Posts

He was Bhai Jaita. Bhought sees (head) of Guru Tegh Bahadur to Guru Gobind Singh. He belonged to so called lower caste (Ranghreta), Guru Gobind Singh hugged him and said 'Ranghretey Guru Ke Betey' (Ranghretas are Gurus sons)

The book you are talking about is Sri Gur Katha, it was discovered by Prof. Gurmukh Singh in 1993. It is also included in books such as Ranghretean Da Itihaas.

Bhai Jaita was the Sikh who took Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib jee's Sees after 8th Patshahi was beheaded. He then put the Sees inside his house, lit the house on fire, and ran outside. This way, did Sanskaar.

He was renamed as "Bhai Jeevan Singh jee" during the 1699 Vaisakhi Amrit Sanchaar.
