Gt1588 Exhibition On The Golden Temple Of Amritsar

Recommended Posts

Because when I went to see the exhibition/art on the ground floor and downstairs, I was not given a tour by one of Nidars team, I was actually given a tour by a Singh I know personally who knows much more then Nidars crew. and so none of THEIR views were imposed upon me. I went and looked at all the photographs and artwork which was done up very professionally.

The exhibition itself consisted of only pictures and art. I hope I havent confused you lol

If you didn't listen to what Niddar or his crew had to say, then how can you comment on what they did or didn't say. Singhstah is commenting on what Niddar and his crew has said and you say it never happened. Again how can you comment on something you never heard?

It's nice to hear that Nidar's propaganda is not being taught to every individual, but it can't be denied it is not being taught, especially when someone didn't attend the Nidar and his crews talk.

WGJKK! WGJKF! I read some of the postings from this discussion and decided to pop down to London this weekend to see what the hype was about and I got to say - 'this is something that we need to get

When I saw the ad's for this exhibition at first I thought WOW!! that will be good, and on the face of it it seems like an excellent attempt at bringing out historical facts, pictures and artefacts th

I see the Niddar publicity machine in out in force again fooling gullible goray into thinking he is the last Sikh warrior! The journo seems to have swallowed the Niddar fairy story. http://www.sunday

I said I didn't listen to their views whilst I was getting the tour. That doesn't mean I didn't hear anything they said whilst I was at the gallery.

I actually attended Niddars talk on the final day of the exhibition if you must know...

So out of all the information he was provided with, that was the only thing that stuck in his mind? Even though he was baffled by the talks he still continued to pay money to attend each talk? Did he not attempt to clarify this with any of the speakers or curators? Out of the 22000 people who attended the exhibitions this is the first "negative" responce ive come accross.

Or are you just making it up?

So you spoke to each of the 22000 people to know that their views were positive?

Hi all,

i personally did attend the exhibition and yes there was some very interesting artifacts there. The people undertaking the guided tours were very professional and articulate. It is just a shame that they were promoting sanatamism. The guide, many times made comparisons between hindus and sikhs i.e. a sikh can be there is no difference between someone keeping their hair and those that chose not to, he talked about the rituals performed at Hazoor Sahib, which many right thinking individuals know to be totally against sikhi, ey they stated that was what our Guru ji's wanted and what was happening outside Hazoor Sahib was largely the modernised version of sikhi!!

I was just ashamed that anti-sikh pratices were being promoted is such a professional manner, something which is totally alien to the majority of sikh camps, lectures, literature or like minded events.

Unfortunately i was told they will be undertaking another exhibition next year some time which will be bigger and better.

What a joke! Compare Niddar the so-called 'last warrior' with the thousands of Kharkoos who gave their lives in the 80s and 90s while 'warrior' was in Punjab meeting his very own Mr Miyagi and acting out a desi version of the Karate Kid!

Have a look at the two pictures and decide who the real Sikh warrior/s were or are.

Exhibition is something that no other organization/clubs are capable of doing it and that is the fact. They are good in showing sikh cultural side and pretty good at it but totally down the drain when they try to represent our dharam side as they themself are mostly confused on what is right and what is wrong. Involving niddar is just example of that.

Second point: Just because of thousands of appreciation comments coming from visitors which are the mixed combination of mostly non-Sikhs and non practicing sikhs doesnt mean that such events are free from flawed and biased representation of Sikh dharma. Just like any event featuring Salman Rushdie can draw thousands but that doesn't represent the image of Islam dharma.

He is very clever at marketing his ideology, without 'appearing' to step over the line, Perhaps someone should take up this matter with the Akal takht. He's the biggest con there is.

I did attend some talks at the exhibition:

  • He didn't wear his kara throughout
  • He belives that Baba Deep Singh was re-incarnated as Maharaja ranjit singh. Interestingly though on his website he has challenged that Bhai fauja singh used to be a soldier in baba deep singh's fauj, but somehow Nidar knows that baba deep singh came back as Maharaja ranjit singh. Weirdo!
  • They had some very controversial paintings - like singhs form of relaxtion was to watch girls dancing. So if i go and take a picture of some singhs in a club dancing, i could claim in 100 years that this is what sikhi is? Also it's not even a picture it's a painting, my little brother could draw a better picture.

I mean come on people - the guy is wearing a red dot on his forehead - what sikh do you know that does that?

I call him a BOD (Bahmin in Disguise), no disrepect to the Hindu brothers out there, but this fanatic is trying to re-write sikhi to say we are apart of Hinduism - which is NOT the case!

And last sikh warrior? OK Niddar.

People like Baba Nihal Singh, who have actually given something to the sikh panth are still alive!! You giddar saab are a disgrace!

Period!

Well, you have to see who Niddar Singh is as a person. He’s very successful at promoting his believes and providing countless amounts of evidence to back it up. As a person on this forum you may not agree but to a non Sikh or Historian he makes perfect sense. The Golden temple exhibition was a complete success, if not for the main stream Sikhs but for the non Sikhs.

Niddar Singh and his associates have published number books on the Sikh faith and again provided evidence to back their claims.

I’m no supporter of this person but you have to understand he has many scholars and historians that support him and his research.

The best solution would be to challenge this person on the same academia and provide hard evidence to back up your claims. For e.g. If you think Niddar Singh is wrong? Provide hard evidence why he is wrong and release books to counteract his literature. The books would need to be published to the wider audience not just main stream Sikhs.

ks55 this is not the way you challenge this persons point of view. If you think you have evidence to prove K singh wrong then bring it to the forum. This is why Niddar Singh does a better job than majority of the Sikhs out there. We know K Singh has ulterior motive but then we are speculating and a post like this makes you look like a fool. Sometimes, It's better to answer a question in a calm thought and put your argument across in structure so the person who asked the question in the first place looks like a fool.

E.g. Your answer why milk is white:

Milk gets its white color because of the nutrients it’s made up of! Among the many proteins in milk is one known as casein, which is full of good-for-you calcium that helps keep your bones strong and your teeth healthy. It’s these little units of casein as well as the fat found naturally in milk that give it that recognizable color!

If milk did not have all of these nutrients, it might be a different color. Can you imagine drinking pink or blue or purple milk??!

Apolagies if this has already been mentioned but Niddar Singh is due to be on Nihal's show on the Asian Network from 2pm.

I'm not 'advertising' but just stating what I've just read via my facebook news feed.
