That logic doesn't hold Mjhai because if they wanted to do that Manpreet would have simply taken over the party and "kicked out parkash and his son". Simply like how parkash's wife ran Punjab on the outside, but parkash was really running Punjab. You do you know all of his party's campaigning media/networks are banned entirely in Punjab?

On top of that he did his job when he was with the badals, but he knew they were corrupt. He got kicked out because he was originally good and started to take steps to try and fix Punjab (the debt). They saw him as a competitor and kicked him out.

He's the best chance Punjab has and everyone needs to realize it. He may not be a good Sikh at all, but he does have good intentions and I guarantee if he's elected he will do more for bringing back rights to Sikhs than anyone else will.

N30SIngh wrapped it up quite well on the previous pages.

In the west we don't blindly vote for somone in our constituency if he is Sikh, we vote for the person best suited for the job so why should it be any different in Punjab.

Would you vote for a proper Gursikh who is incompetent, corrupt and has no idea about brining in beneficial reforms or a punjabi who identifies themselves as a sikh or even a non-sikh (hindu, muslim, christian other) who would be the best person for the job?

Sorry but here in the west, well Wolverhampton in the UK to be more specific, the local sikhs voted in a sikh, paul uppal, who has never done anything for sikhs interests, here or in india, over Pat McFadden, who has worked immensely for the goal of self-determination for the sikh panth in india. uppal doenst give a hoot about sikh issues in india, and next week when its the federation convention, McFadden who was always present wont be there, and the new "SIKH" guy uppal, well if he's there and says anything in support of the Sikhs, i come back here and apologise.

In the west we still have a lot of sikhs who were born in panjabi villages. thats become a problem here.

My thoughts are similar to Majhail-Jat!

By creating the PP Party the Congress will be crippled during an election they would otherwise have one hands down.

The Akali Dal Badal know that Punjab politics is about sharing terms. One term Akali Dali next term Congress, but by having a third party there would be a need of coalition for the both parties to be elected. So who better than his nephew to damage Congress votes and keep Punjab secured for future elections!

However once Snr Badal dies then there could be a power struggle between Manpreet and Sukhbir!

Either way the situation for Punjab is very bad!

People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) chief Manpreet Badal who recently met Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the controversial head of Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda. Manpreet’s visit comes days after Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Capt Amarinder Singh visited the dera on November 12. The PPP president, it is learnt, had a 10-minute meeting with the dera chief, followed by another one with the dera’s political advisory committee (Punjab wing). Both Manpreet and the dera representatives concerned refused to comment on what transpires at the meeting.

“There is nothing wrong if a political leader visits a dera. Being a secular party, the PPP has high regard for every religious sect provided it works for the society’s betterment,” said Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, PPP vice-president.
