the certificate itself only states that the Gurmukh practiced Nam Drir, Gurmantar Drir, and Sach Drir for a year.

Getting a certificate saying that a person has been practising those specific things is just a potentially massive ego booster, explain where on earth is the Gurmath in that?

waheguru ji ki fateh

The 30 acres of land you are talking isn't 30 acres and isn't owned by Bhai Sahib, it is owned by the Sarb Sukh Charitable Trust which has members across the US, Canada, England, and Punjab.

There was no Akal Takht Statement during Jathedar Ranjit Singh's time, there was however at the behest of a anti Naam Simran group during Jathedar Vedanti's time, but the Akal Takht later retracted that when Bhai Sahib went there to explain how Naam Simran is done with techniques in Gurbani. Since then Bhai Sahib has done Katha a number of times at the Akal Takht. Every year they go with the graduating batch to Harmandar Sahib and Akal Takht and seek Guru Sahib's blessings before the graduates go on to do Parchaar in the outside world.

how about the 30 acres of land - tarmalla owns in india??

how about the akal takht statement made against him in around bhai ranjit singh jathedars time?

Hau Apraadhi Ji, the certificate isn't a ego booster it is meant as designation that a student has graduated from the University and are trained Parchaaraks. This is similar to what alot of Gurmat Schools do, an example is the Missionary Colleges as they also give certificates upon course completion to the Parchaaraks. This way no Katha Vaachak can claim to have graduated from the University without a certificate.

Getting a certificate saying that a person has been practising those specific things is just a potentially massive ego booster, explain where on earth is the Gurmath in that?

Tarmala head was once in AKJ just like normal member in his early years. Later on he left jatha. Most people says that he got kicked out because of some reasons but not sure which one. Anyway, this group is dodgy after i had conversation with one of main organisers in my area:

1. They only concentrate on Simran.

2. They actually do nitnem but do not believe in it as they say simran is more important than nitnem/kirtan.

3. They scare new people by drawing pictures of people getting killed after life - Hell concept.

4. Their rumor pr are the best. Ex: This little girl seen heaven & so on.

5. Their katha is totally based on their own concepts.

6. Most of their saamagams are only on their own version katha and simran. Amateur Kids do kirtan just for 15 mins.

7. They reject Dasam Granth completely - heard in their katha once few years ago.

In India they are known as Tarmala group (Tarmaley). In the west they are well known as Dasam Duar Group (Dasam Duaraey). However most of them are very nice people with good heart and hard workers but like bholay bhalay jatts, they are extremely naive and are stuck in the web of tarmala lies & deceit.

That video is just embarrasing. I have never heard of any concept that says people should skake their heads around and move left and right etc..when doing Naam Simram. The people in the video make it look like a scene from a mental hospital with their actions, some people lying on the floor kicking his legs around, other peoples dastaars coming off and wildly shaking their hair around. etc..

Surely Naam Simaram requires conentration, stillness of the mind focus of mental energy. Not acting like a mental patient or a drug addict....

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
