There is more to a man then a beard, you can find loads of people in punjab sitting in the floor without a beard. If it is about hygeine loads of people who shave don't wash, it is rehat to wash. If they want neat and tidy you could tie it or tie a better paag so everyone is amazed by how great it looks. Loads of people who cut beards look funny some are fat wearing a paag with chicken stuck in their teeth sweating. If that is what they want maybe they are not good enough for you and if that is what is holding them back from marrying you then they are shallow and will create more problems in life along the line you are better off staying away from people who got issues with beards find a rishta with someone who is high thinking and wants more in life.

So my mum gets these rishtay for me and rings them up. But most families we ring up say "oh our daughter wants clean shaven". What is the best answer my mum should give them. Should we go further with any rishtay with these families or just stop chatting there and then?

dpmt ever shave your dhari singh.. that is what makes you diferent form all the rest!"!!

First of all there is no "clean shaven"? Tell me brothers what is CLEAN in trimming shave the beard? I don´t like this kind of word related to Dhari. There is only one solution? People who from the first don´t want to get to know you or a guy with a flowing dhari - they don´t deserve you . Where is the point keeping connection to them if they even have no interest? The parents of this girl don´t even have perseverance, the girl is saying her parents what she wants or not this is the same as you would go out datin 100x men and choose the one your kaam desires - Remember love developes over time - these so called love propagted now is just marketing - womens are sex objects etc.. all this crap.

It's a shame this family, who want you to trim your beard, weren't born 300 years ago. Only then they could have followed Aurangzeb, he liked Sikhs to trim their beard too. This girl's family would have got on like a house on firm with Aurangzeb, they would have both been in bliss convincing or forcing Sikhs to trim their beards!

Take them down to the nearest tram station, the site of the 'tram lines' will send them loopy !!!
