I don't know why Hindus have wrong perception of Sikhi like

1) Before Guru Gobind Singh Ji all Sikhs Guru Sahibs were Hindus.

No they were not Hindus . Guru Nanak Sahib Ji laid down the foundation of Sikhism and all his followers were known as Sikhs . Even at that time new converts have to take Charn Pahul to become Sikhs . After Guru Amar Das Ji all Sikh Guru Sahibs were son of Sikhs not Hindus.

2) Hindus made their first son Sikh to fight Muslims .

No, it were Sikhs the followers of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji made their sons Khalsa to fight Muguls not Muslims .

3) Khalsa is a Panth not Dharam .

Yes Khalsa is a panth but not of Hindu Dharma its a Panth of Sikh dharma .

I don't know any Hindus who have such perception, this is just another negative Hindu thread.

Typical anti hindu rubbish:

Wheel on Indias flag is of King Asokas chariot, and he became a bhuddist, so go figure.

Yes, spot on!

Sikhs aren't even allowed to have an opinion nowadays!

Musicman, this is a sikh forum...we're having a discussion, if you disagree with anything said, make your points...don't just throw your bottle out of the pram!

As part of my consultancy roled i had to work with a Hindu brother, we got talking and somehow the conversation went onto him praising Inida, anyway i happened to move the discussion onto corruption & poverty in India, he turned round to me and said "Why are you so Anti-Hindu?". He took my points as a direct attack on Hinduism! LOL

Yeh its a sikh forum, but there seems to be a new thread about Hindus everyday, therefore Hindus have every right to engage in the discussions here.

As for your example, clearly your mate is ignorant if he did drift from corruption in India talk to labeling you anti-Hindu, i presume he didn't have any misguided views about Sikhism which is what this thread is basically portraying.

Misconceptions that sikhs are Hindu's need to be raised & discussed - there is enough Gurbani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee & Sri Dasam Granth that categorecally hightlight that sikhs are not.

When someone of the Hindu faith sees threads like this:

http://www.sikhsangat.com/Index.php?/topic/62832-darshan-of-hanuman-ji-to-gursikhs/

http://www.sikhsangat.com/Index.php?/topic/63010-brahm-kavichh/

You can't really blame them for coming up with their own conclusions, which is how these misconceptions arise, its just that Sikhs should be ready to justify whatever is said based on Sikhism teachings.

You do know the bahmans made Ashoka sit below him because he was of a lower caste? If you honestly believe brahmanism/hinduism doesn't try to make the population homogeneous, then you're utterly confused or you have bad intentions.

Sir Max Arthur Macaulliffe who wrote The Sikh Religion and translated the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj to English writes that hinduism is like a serpent that slowly puts its grip around any new dharam and Sikhi is now at risk at being absorbed like hinduism absorbed buddhism.

There's an organized effort right now by the RSS and hinduvita government to wipe out SIkhi from the face of the planet. Even the west through bollywood movies. Your intentions are clear, because this much is very, very obvious.

I suggest you watch this RSS documentary as well:

Found the direct quote of Sir Max Arthur Macaullife:

"Truly wonderful are the strength and vitality of Hinduism. It is like the boa constrictor of the Indian forests. When a petty enemy appears to worry it, it winds round its opponent, crushes it in its folds, and finally causes it to disappear in its capacious interior. In this way, many centuries ago, Hinduism on its own ground disposed of Budhism, which was largely a Hindu, reformation; in this way, in a prehistoric. period, it absorbed the religion of the Scythian invaders of Northern India; in this way it has converted uneducated Islam in India into a semi-paganism; and in this way it is disposing of the reformed and once hopeful religion of Baba Nanak. Hinduism has embraced Sikhism in its folds; the still comparatively young religion is making a vigorous struggle for life, but its ultimate destruction is, it is apprehended, inevitable without State support. Notwithstanding the Sikh Gurus' powerful denunciation of Brahmans, secular Sikhs now rarely do anything without their assistance. Brahmans help them to be born, help them to wed, help them to die, and help their souls after death to obtain a state of bliss. And Brahmans, with all the deftness of Roman Catholic missionaries in Protestant countries, have partially succeeded in persuading the Sikhs to restore to their niches the images of Devi, the Queen of Heaven, and of the saints and gods of the ancient faith."

Why do sikhs continue to lay blame on the RSS for everything, yes they are a pro-hindu, nationalist organization but has there been any concrete evidence that they are targetting the Sikh religion? or it just a case of lay the blame on them for the sake of it?

Also what 'Hinduvta government' are you reffering to? RSS are not in government, Congress is in government and if anyone is a threat to the Hindu & Sikh faiths, its the ruling Congress.
