Waheguru ji ka Khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh

I was hoping that I could get a bit of advice...:/ I know what I'm probably asking is really silly and I apologise....

I'm about to start my pgce on Monday but I've decided to take Amrit nxt week...I'm happy and i know for a fact that it's the best decision I could have ever made...but the thing is that im not sure if I'll be able to do my pgce and so my parents may be disappointed...because although I've kept my hair, as being a girl I have a lot of hair on my face...it's quite bad...as in I look like a boy...my mum and brother have said that as my pgce is going to be at secondary placement I'm going to find it really difficult and I might even get constantly laughed at....I'm really confused because I've worked really hard to get where I am...And basically I don't no whether to go forward with it or just find A different job...im not concerned with what othrs have to say because im happy in keeping my hair its just that my brother reckons that it could turn out to be a really big test with the kids at schools because they can be pretty mean at times...And it won't be for a year or two, it'll be a lifetime career....plus my hair on my face is growing so therefore I'm really stuck

I apologise if I've sed nething wrong and if I may have repeated myself in

Don't let that put off from aiming high.

If it's not the kids, it will be something else.

Society will sometimes say things or ask questions, so what are u going to hide from them and stay at home all day? Don't take your brothers advice.

I work in a primary school, I also have facial hair. Children are always asking me why I wear a turban an some even say I look like a boy because of my facial hair. Once I explain to them they understand. They just ask these questions because they are curious.

Congratulations on taking amrit, but dont let that hinder your opportunities. We need more gursikh teachers.

Penji don't let this get you down at all. Guru je says take one step I'll take millions towards my Sikh :)

Don't worry Guru ji will hold your hand on this path of life; your never alone :) and about worrying about what's other say, just laugh it off. We all get it. I'll give you a recent example: at airport in uk the immigration officer asked if I was my parents son. I laughed it off so if you get any grief laugh it off & do simran :)

All the best with your work on Monday :)

kids will always find a reason to take the mick. Above all you can never show any weakness at all.

I'm sure you aware of that anyway. (kick a few heads if you have to)

Reason i posted was to say Good Luck penji, we definitively need more Singhs and Kaurs in public jobs.

Hope you have a successful career and promote our dharam and culture along the way.

You're doing us all proud

Dont take any notice of the kids. just have faith and confidence in who you are.Im Male, No one cares about some hairs on your face its no big deal.

Bullies will always try and bully people by shouting at them and making them feel bad about themselves. the worst thing is when a the person on the reciving end starts believing what the bully is saying. this is known as shock tactics by the bully. who thinks by shoiuting, becoming insulting. it will make the person think he/she is in the wrong.
