Sikh Federation: Gursikh Denied Entry Into Lords Cricket Ground Due To Kirpan

24^th July – Gurdev Singh was denied access to lords cricket ground to watch India play England after he pointed out he was wearing a Kirpan, which was missed in the security check.

25^th July – Gurdev Singh contacts the federation and his case was referred to the Sikh Council; to take up with the MCC.

29^th July – Gurdev Singh was coached by the federation on the line to take for the ITV Daybreak programme, that broadcast a positive story for the rights of Sikhs to wear a Kirpan.

Following the broadcast, the authorities running Lords issues an apology and announced a review of their policies.

19^th September – The membership and general committee at Lords will meet and are expected to formally change the ground regulations – to be chased by federation.

aman do you know who is leading on this, we had similar situation at a football ground 6 yrs back and developed a policy that is now used by this football ground and other. it doesn't makes refernece to a minimal size and is a good polciy, so Lords can use that rather than re-nventign the wheel, can someone pls pm me

Nothing wrong in supporting India, i went to a match and there were plenty of Singhs proudly supporting India, tshirts, flags, the full works!
