can you explain to me how doing paath and simran will help the sikh panth ?...

Those who have served You with love are truly wise. Those who have the Treasure of the Naam within emancipate others as well as themselves. There is no other Giver as great as the Guru, who has given the gift of the soul. || 2 || ang sung 52

its understandable that simran and paath will help your individual spirutality..helping you to get closer to god..but how will you doing simran and paath help me and all other brothers and sisters to get raaj...we don't just sit with a maalaa for a millenium waiting for something to happen..

When we do paat, our spirituality grows and gets perfected. When we speak to others about Sikhi the love for Maharaj comes off and rubs on to the other person that is seeking Maharaj and want to make the ultimate sarcifice. Take Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa, his speech alone can make a sheep into a lion. The love, devotion, and dedication Sant ji has is through doing simran and paat. By doing so Sant ji woke up the whole Khalsa Panth and was able to bring the enemies to their knees. When you have a leader, who is full of Naam then everyone in the jatha will be given the shakti of Maharaj to take on anything that comes in their path.

theres a reason we have a kirpaan..it represents activism...god has given the khalsa a hukam to do something themselves not to wait wait and wait for a saviour...by that time we will be left far behind..with a decreasing sikh population in india and a small insignificant sikh population in the west we dont have the privledge to be lazy and insular...bhagti and shakti go together...im fed up of people telling me to stay quiet...go gupt..do your baani and paath and everything will work out in time...no one gives you freedom easily...even waheguru does not grant freedom to a people if they are procrastinating and cowardly in their actions...waheguru is pleased with qurbaani for righteousness...blood and sweat will get us freedom

If we don't understand Gurbani (our jeevans are low), then how will we know what is right or wrong, when it comes down to it? To raise the sword is an eazy task, any person in anger can shot a gun. Maharaj tells us the base for anything we do, should be pyare for Maharaj and this means to see Maharaj in everyone. All the great warriors who lead the Khalsa Panth, first developed high jeevans because without it, they were nothing. Satguru is going to do everything. Sant Jagjit Singh ji says those who act in ego or anger even though its for the Panth will get that kind of seat after they depart. What is in the person's mind when they commit the act is what Maharaj looks at. Because the doer and causer is Maharaj himself, so we can't do anything in this world and all credit goes to Maharaj.

Everyone needs to work on their jeevans and Maharaj will give the Singhs with the highest jeevan to lead the rest into Sachkhand. Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa only kept Singhs with high jeevans around him.

This is true but i think once a Sikh first takes Amrit they receive naam and begin the journey. The head is sacrificed to Guru Sahib and Guru Ka Khalsa Panth. Building a jeevan and avastha is a state of being - a lifestyle of action fueled by Simran and Paath.

I think we're all right and we're all wrong lol. Best thing is to just do i guess.

Where has all this slandering of other faiths come from? Have we forgotten the message of our Guroos? Does the sweet Gurbaanee of the Sri Guroo Granth Sahib Jee fall onto deaf ears? Or do we simply choose to accept some of the teachings, but knowingly ignore the others.

I do not see why people who decide to follow another faith should bother us as a panth, let alone as an individual. Whilst I do not agree with forced conversions of any type, if a man or a woman feels the same pyaar for God through Christianity, Islaam, Hinduism etc that a Sikh feels through Sikhee, then who are we to stop them? Just because Sikhee makes you feel bliss and ectasy, are we to deny that others, who feel the same pyaar through practising another faith?

I am sure most of us will agree that being born into Sikhee doesn't make you a Sikh, anymore than being born a family who are Labour Supporters doesn't make a "Labour Child". I was born into a Christian family but the teachings of that faith and the beliefs didn't resonate with me. It was through God's will that I was to be born under such circumstances and that it was written that I was to do a lot of "soul searching" and through Guroo Jee's sweet kirpaa, I was to fall in love with Sikhee. There are no Christians out there who are getting mad at me and saying they are facing a "conversion problem" and that I should have been educated in the first place. It is God's hukam, and whether I recite the Bible, Koraan, Vedas or Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee, I am still worshipping the same God and walking hand-in-hand with him. God is everything and God is infinite. Therefore, the ways to love him are limitless. Let us leave these people to find their own path and let us just focus on the short time we have to benefit ourselves and our own spirituality.

Have we considered reporting these Video clips to Ofcom if they lack invitation of dedicated Sikhs and not JholiJhukhs or fake identities showing their faces.

Cristian Propaganda In Punjab and Their Rules to Covert Sikh to Christianity!

1.Do not criticize or condemn Sikhism. There is much that is good and much that is bad in the practice of both Christianity and Sikh-ism. Pointing out the worst aspects of Sikh-ism is hardly the way to win friends or show love. Criticizing Sikhism can make us feel we have won an argument; it will not win Sikhs to Jesus Christ.

2.Avoid everything that hints of triumphalism and pride. We are not the greatest people with the greatest religion, but some Sikhs are taught that we think of ourselves in this way. We do not have all knowledge of all truth; in fact we know very little (1 Cor 8:1,2). to become “Christian.” (Think of what that means to a Sikh—India like America or Europe!) But we do desire all India to find peace and joy and true spirituality.

3.Never allow a suggestion that separation from family and/ or culture is necessary in becoming a disciple of Christ. To insist or even subtly encourage a Sikh to leave his home and way of life to join the “Christian” way of life in terms of diet and culture, etc., is a denial of Biblical teaching (1 Cor. 7:17-24).

4.Do not speak quickly on hell , or on the fact that Jesus is the only way for salvation. Sikhs hear these things as triumphalism and are offended unnecessarily. Speak of hell only with tears of compassion. Point to Jesus so that it is obvious He is the only way, but leave the Sikh to see for himself, rather than trying to force it on him.

5.Never hurry.Any pushing for a decision or conversion will do great harm. God must work, and the Holy Spirit should be given freedom to move at his own pace. Even after a profession of Christ is made, do not force quick changes regarding pictures of gods, charms, etc. Be patient and let a person come to fuller understand-ing and conviction in his own mind before taking action.

6.Work traditional Sikh (and Biblical)values into your life, like simplicity, renunciation, spirituality and humility, against which there is no law. A life reflecting the reality of “a still and quiet soul” (Psalm 131) will never be despised by Sikhs.

7.Know Sikhism, and each individual Sikh. It will take some study to get a broad grasp of Sikhism and patient listening will be required to understand where in the spectrum each Sikh stands. Both philosophi-cal and devotional Sikhism should be studied with the aim of understanding what appeals to the Sikh heart. Those who move seriously into work among Sikhs need to become more knowledge-able in Sikhism than Sikhs themselves are. Some study of the Punjabi language will prove invaluable. Remember the Biblical pattern from Acts 17 of introducing truth to the Sikh from his own tradition, and only secondarily from the Bible. For example, the Biblical teaching on sin is repulsive to many modern Sikhs, but their own scriptures give an abun-dance of similar testimony. Bridge from Sikh scripture to the Bible and Christ.

8.Be quick to acknowledge failure. Defending wrong practices in the church and Western Christianity only indicates we are more concerned for our religion than we are for truth.

9.Share your testimony, describing your personal experience of lostness and God’s gracious forgiveness and peace. Don’t claim to know God in His majesty and fullness, but share what you know in your life and experience. This is the supreme approach in presenting Christ to the Sikh, but care must be taken that our sharing is appropriate. To shout on a street corner, or share at every seeming opportu-nity is offensive. What God does in our lives is holy and private, only to be shared in intimacy to those who will respect the things of God and his work in our lives.

10.Center on Christ. He alone can win their hearts’ total loyalty to Himself. In your life and speech so center on him that all see in your life that God alone is worth living for. Sikhism is often called “God-intoxicated,” and the Sikh who lives at all in this frame of mind is put off by Christian emphases on so many details to the neglect of the “one thing that is needed” (Lk. 10:42).

A Sikh who professes faith in Christ must be helped as far as possible to work out the meaning of that commitment in his own cultural context. Often a new follower of Christ is ready to adopt any and every practice of Western Christians, and needs to be taught what is essential and what is secondary in Christian life and worship. For example, it can be shown that the Eastern practice of removing shoes in a place of worship has strong Biblical precedence despite the fact that shoes are worn in Western churches.

A new believer should be warned against making an abrupt announcement to his or her family, since that inflicts great pain and inevitably produces deep misunderstanding. Ideally, a Sikh will share each step of the pilgrimage to Christ with his or her family, so that there is no surprise at the end. An early stage of the communication, to be reaffirmed continually, would be the honest esteem for Indian/Sikh traditions in general that the disciple of Christ can and does maintain.

Some of those channels could be airing fake stories. I am telling you this because over here in the United States there is one channel in particular that airs fake stories about ex-Muslims. One such fake ex-Muslim, Ergun Caner, was found out to the whole world. It's sad how some groups use such cheap tactics. I wouldn't be surprised if these channels were also airing fake stories about ex-Sikhs. Buddhists, and Hindus as well.

All religions are equal yes. Just as the river has many tributaries leading to the same ocean, religions are those tributaries and God is the ocean. If they are not equal, then you could describe God as "evil". . baedh kathaeb kehahu math jhoot(h)ae jhoot(h)aa jo n bichaarai ||

"Bhai Randhir Singh Ji in his book “Gurmat Gauravta” gives the following interpretation of this line:
Religions of Vedas and Semitic scriptures are false and their followers are false as well because they do not contemplate the truth. As long as a person does not realize the truth of Gurmat he is false."

Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false.

This pankti of Gurbani is always taken out of context. Singh, if all religions are equal, then there was no reason for Satguru Sri Guru Amar Das ji Maharaj to leave the worship of a devi and fall at the feet of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj. According to you the devi was another river leading to the ocean, Sri Vaheguru ji Maharaj. So why leave a true path that is content? When we say all religions are equal, then this proclaims all religious practices are equally elevating as practicing Sikhi. If this is true, then a person from Christianity does not need to change religions and become a Sikh because Christianity is equally elevating as Sikhi. An individual can't claim for me it was a better path because two equations that say 1+3=4 and 2+2=4 have the equal elevation for everyone an same destination. Another example would be to look at two different roads and say they are equally elevating and the one I am traveling on currently (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhuism) gives me the same Anand (bliss) as Sikhi and same desination. Therefore, there is no need to switch to Sikhi, when i am already half way down the road of a different religion. Switching to Sikhi would be a pointless task and be very wasteful and the person switching to Sikhi would be consider to be a lost individual in the sense of not knowing what to do, when it comes to realizing Sri Waheguru Ji Maharaj.

Also let's say the person says Sikhi is a quicker path to Sri Waheguru ji Maharaj. This kind of statement in itself is undermining the other religion, which the person claims is equal to SIkhi. Direct question i would ask such a person is, if Anand is equal in both paths, then how is one faster, when the Anand is already there in both? See Anand is not confined by time and is above time. A person that realizes this, does not look for a faster route because they love the feeling of being in Anand, also there is no where to go faster when Anand is experienced right here.

Now say the person says Anand is achieved quicker in Sikhi. Again this kind of statement is undermining the other religions. It says the other religions are lacking in something. What the person doesn't realize who makes such statements, is that it's not about the destination, but about following Satguru. Maharaj tells us in Gurbani thousands of times follow Satguru and your hunger will be satisfied. So going with the statement, all religions are equal, then there is no faster path as following the Bible, a devi, other religions, religious heads, would be just as fast and fullfilling as following Sikhi religious head, Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj.

The only way a person can claim that other religious paths are like rivers that lead to the same ocean is by saying they have different practices. But then how does it lead to the same ocean, when Sikhi speak out against fasting, ritual killing of animals, bowing down to devis, bowing down to stones, worshipping on emptiness (budhuist monks), bowing in one direction, desiring heaven, desiring paradise, cutting hair, etc, which are all part of other religious practices.

And considering God is evil, if other religious paths are not equal, is like saying the feutus in the mother that dies before birth is another evil act by God because God didn't give the child a chance to prove himself/herself. Also God is evil because for some he has made into athiest. Also God is evil because he can't stop a woman from abortion and allows such cruel inhumane acts to occur. Also God is evil because 6 million plus jews were killed by the hand of the Nazi and God did nothing to stop it. Also God is evil because right now the west is eating up all the food in the world, while people in less developed countries don't even have water. Also God is evil because for some he gives religion and others have too suffer in maya. We surely have a cruel God. Also God is evil because some have cancer and other killing diseases and they don't even know what they have. Also God is evil for not giving every person on this planet the equal chance of at living a peaceful life.

God is evil and our thinking is righteous because our Hukam is good and God's Hukam is bad and we are higher.

People talk on and on about Him; they consider this to be praise of God. But rare indeed is the Gurmukh, who is above this mere talk. || 3 || ang sung 51

Regarding the tributaries and the ocean comment, are you saying Christians, Muslims, Jews and Buddhists can't merge with God? I thought love was unconditional...not bound by any constraints? If a Christian feels the same love for God as a Sikh, why can the Sikh merge with God but the Christian cannot? What happened to all those amazing saints etc. before the time of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee? Did no one merge with God up until the birth of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee or up until 1699? Sikhee teaches us that fasting, idol worship and pilgrimages are pointless. It doesn't teach us that they are strictly forbidden and you by practising such rituals, you can't feel love for God? There are plenty of Muslims who make pilgrimages to Mecca, fast etc. and are inspirational devotees of God, if not saints! If they fast, does this stop them merging with God? If you can only merge with God as a Sikh, then that "dooms" 6 billion people who will have to be reborn, whilst some 20 million+ who are mainly in Panjab, are able to be liberated from this cycle of birth and death. Does God prefer India to the rest of the world? Does he hate white, black and oriental people as they are mainly of other faiths?

I would like to ask; following your comments about God and being evil,...what do you think is a suitable justification for it all?

Regarding the tributaries and the ocean comment, are you saying Christians, Muslims, Jews and Buddhists can't merge with God?

I'm not saying anything other than, other religious paths are not equal to Sikhi. This point can be proven using simple philosophy and/or looking into Sikhi and then other religions and comparing them. Whether a Christain or a different religious follower can merge with God is a different topic and there is a clear distinction between saying two religions are equal and which religion can merge a person with God.

I thought love was unconditional...not bound by any constraints?

Love for what and what do you consider contraints.

If a Christian feels the same love for God as a Sikh, why can the Sikh merge with God but the Christian cannot?

How would a Christian get to the same love as a Sikh for Maharaj when both religious followers are following a different path?

What happened to all those amazing saints etc. before the time of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee? Did no one merge with God up until the birth of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee or up until 1699?

Read up on these saints, if they left any writing in the first place to be read. Many people call the devis, saints, but Satguru has shown through the Shabad Guru, what they really were. All the Saints in Satguru, followed Sikhi, whether that be Bhagat Namdev ji Maharaj or Bhagat Kabeer ji Maharaj.

Sikhee teaches us that fasting, idol worship and pilgrimages are pointless. It doesn't teach us that they are strictly forbidden and you by practising such rituals, you can't feel love for God? No, Sikhi says all of these practices are useless and those that use these practices to get closer to Maharaj, will not recieve Maharaj darshan.

Does Maharaj need to justify his actions? Do we give orders to Maharaj or does he control the creation? Also do explain how the creation came into existance or does it even exist? When we have dreams, do we take them as actually existing in reality? Also what you or anyone else considers to be righteous is not what Maharaj sees as righteous. What we humans do is take our thinking (we consider it to be logical) and then equate this with Maharaj's Hukam. When did our thinking become Maharaj's Hukam? Satguru has all the answers to these God is evil to doom 6 billion people statements. Humans have limited thinking so they see good and bad, ill post the pankti again, which i posted in my last post, that shows what Satguru tells us to reach inorder to see the 6 billions of people as Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj sees them.

Take Only Five out of qvaalty control so i can like his posts plz. :lol2:

One thing I have faith in is that Sikhi is Universal. Christianity doesn't reflect Jesus, a lot of Islam is based off of what people said Christianity was, hinduism changed and ultimately got caught up in false ritualism and stopped worshipping Waheguru, Buddhism started to change (an example is Buddhists used to keep kesh and slowly started to cut their hair and start worshiping idols).

I think that still doesn't mean a person of another faith can't meet Waheguru, i think it would be very hard to considering they have no rehit to do Simran, keep their panj chors in check and so on and so forth. Guru Sahib says is there and jhoodha that has killed their Panj chors. Ultimately we are to respect other faiths and protect freedom but have steadfast unquestionable faith with Guru Sahib. Guru Sahib went against the ritualism and falsehood of religions of hinduism and islam. The most obvious examples is the caste system and halal meat (obviously there is much more and you guys probably have more knowledge about what Guru Sahibs condemned). I don't believe Sikhi is equivalent to other religions at all.

I agree. I was just getting at we aren't like yogis that go into mountains and ignore worldly affairs.
