Lead now over 5,000 (17:45 UK time)

No 1: United Sikhs: 19,374 votes

No 2: Villalobos Rescue Center: 14,299 votes

Lead 5,075 votes.

With less than 24 hours to go before the vote closes first place for United Sikhs is almost assured.

It was good to see Sikhs across the globe have come together at very short notice and as a result of their actions ensure United Sikhs receive $250,000.

If this support had not been forthcoming they would have had to settle for only $100,000..

In the UK we understand that United SIkhs in the US have been the subject of hate mail and false accusations of fictious votes.

This should encourage more of us to vote in the next 24 hours and make the margin of victory larger and beyond question.

I believe that the pit bull rescue organization and many others never thought of seeing minority based US based organization taking lead of thousands of votes. To UK users, that dog rescue got their own show on main TV channel and i have seen their program few times in past. They do good work by giving chance to ex-criminals to work out their life by providing them shelter and work. Anyway, we hope the best organization win.

Also there is no way of any type of forgery involved in such 3rd party controlled app/voting system. Also, ip of voters are usually recorded and can be figure out if couple of users are voting in large number from one ip address. It is just impossible to do that and takes computer illiterate to say such things.

Last official update on 21 November, 2011 6:00PM ET was:

No 1: United Sikhs: 19, 645 votes

No 2: Villalobos Rescue Center: 15,118 votes

United Sikhs 4, 527 votes ahead

Now:

No 1: United Sikhs: 21,153 votes

No 2: Villalobos Rescue Center: 16,974 votes

United Sikhs NOW 4,179 votes ahead (7:43am UK time)

The Villalobos Rescue Center have closed the gap slightly, but United Sikhs are now getting more votes with the UK/Europe effect and with less than 9.5 hours left 1st place looks almost certain. WOuld expect lead to increase to around 5,000 in the next 5-6 hours.

I am happy that so many of my fellow Sikhs on this website are supporting a Sikh organisation that....

"..............believes in the promotion of diversity and equality for the benefit of the public by promoting the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of ............. religion or belief, ................sexual orientation.

It is good and we should not indulge in anti-Islamic and homophobic behaviour.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
