Their intentions are ill, but at least they are not defiling it, unlike the case where people left a Qur'an with a pig's head and blood all over it in front of a mosque. Burning the Qur'an is actually the Islamic method of disposing of them if aren't fit for reading (too many pages missing, water damage, things like that). Why do people feel the need to put down what is sacred to others...? I would never burn a holy book...whether it be the Vedas, Bible, or Guru Granth Sahib. It's beyond disrespect. These are things we can read and learn from.

to me there is not much difference between muslim and hindu communities in terms of terrorism. Both have a history of terrorising. so some hindus burnt a koran... muslims have lanched attacks on hindus and other communities both in india and across the globe.

please note: I dont and would never support the burning of any book belonging to any community... but at the same time i find it hard to sympathise with muslims because the koran was tourched.

Over Billions.

10 millions Buddhists alone by Pushymitra Sunga, Sushinaga and Adi Sankaracharaya. Rest were forced to become Sudhra's and their femals forced into forced prostitution named as "Devdasis".

Moreover, Burning seems to be there hobby :). Bodh Gaya tree was burnt, burn widow alive, burn Sikhs alive, burn swaroops of SGGS, burn Muslims/Christians alive, burn trains/bus/car/scooters in any protest :), burn daughter-in-law if not brought sufficient dowry, burn Quran. So, I think it is just a hobby :). I think they just love fire :laugh2:.

Mughals are no less - Babar was called Jabar by Guru Nanak Dev Jee - "Paap Ki Janjh le Kabulo Dhaya, Jori Mange daan ve Lalo". We all know other history prior to Mughals and after, and even Middle-East, so not repeating ...

Read Ambedkar history books on ambedkar.org, Even Nehru accepted all the dark side of Indian History in "Glimpses of Indian History". I forgot a name - "MihirKula".

If you have time to read, go to the link ambedkar.org, then follow left hand side Dr. B.R. Ambedkar -> On-Line Books -> "Decline And Fall of Buddhism" (Right Hand side).

There is also a book covering "Tirupathi Balaji which was a Buddhist shrine".

I don't think there is any reason for this history to be in Western mainstream books, the Indian main stream historians don't want this history to be taught out even to Indians :), so it's not covered even in Indian CBSE/NCERT courses.

Most Hindus are peaceful, kind people.

I believe your definiion of the word "Hindu" is not as per Indian Constitution. Under Indian Constitution, everybody except Muslim/Christian/Parsi is a Hindu whether he is Sikh/Budhdhist/Jainism or anybody else. Just ask a Bengali if he/she is a Hindu and just see the reaction! For more clarification, read this - http://superhindus.wordpress.com/hindutva-nothing-but-brahminic-sanathana-dharma/

@ JasSinghKhalsa

Very good articles but it's not 100 % evidence this is what happened, it's someone’s opinion. There are so many Sikh historians who have written a different account to Sikh history that main stream Sikhs do not agree with. For e.g. Badha Bahdhur, some Sikhs believe he never took amrit and should not be call Badha Singh Bahadur. There are accounts of Bandha Bahadhur killing thousands of innocent Muslims but in the main stream we believe this is not true. Everything is not black and white specially history some accounts are very bias, we as the reader should take that into consideration.

ok then you have a point...but would you to like tell us what happened to the bhuddists of india?...because frankly i dont believe the story the hindus float around that they basically converted back to hinduism en masse...that just isnt believable....there had to be some mass killing involved....how could a very large bhuddist population just disappear like that?

    • you really are a piece of work take your false propaganda and shove it ....  history from all sides indicates that what I said is true , the mughals and afghanis, and angrez /portguese were helped by brahmins , and stating that brahmins spread their knowledge to everyone is bogus , sanskrit is a secret language and used to control dissemination of knowledge to only those who were allowed to study/hear it . Over 80% of people who claim some link with Hindu faiths are NOT allowed to read/hear so called religious texts; how is that fair dissemination? The fact that people now can study sanskrit despite not being born Brahmin is purely out of a foreigner paying enough money to be taught then that person took that knowledge and writing his own books . It was never a altruistic sharing from scholar direct to the wide world Homeopathy was invented by the xperimentation of Christian Samuel Hahnneman in Germany , it has zero to do with Vedic anything .
    • Not just North Punjabi/Mirpuri Pakistani types in the UK, presumably the below article refers mainly to white males   Samaritans volunteers met vulnerable callers for sex https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58057031 By Jennifer Meierhans BBC News Published 50 minutes ago Share IMAGE SOURCEGETTY IMAGES Samaritans says it has introduced new safeguarding measures after volunteers met vulnerable callers for sex. The charity, which offers a helpline to people in distress, will reportedly monitor calls in future to prevent inappropriate relationships. The Telegraph found incidents of middle-aged men using their position to meet up with female callers for sex. The charity told the BBC it did not dispute that a "very small number of safeguarding incidents" had occurred. Samaritans chief executive Julie Bentley said the "extremely rare" incidents had been identified and that swift and appropriate action had been taken. According to the Telegraph, a memo to volunteers said 44 serious incidents had occurred since 2017. Ms Bentley said Samaritans' 20,000 volunteers provided vital emotional support to anyone who is struggling, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Volunteers on the charity's telephone service have answered more than 13 million calls in the four years from January 2017, she said. 'Robust investigation' "Running any national service on this scale means that, on extremely rare occasions, high standards are not always met and from the millions of calls answered, a very small number of safeguarding incidents were identified," said Ms Bentley. "Our robust investigation procedures meant these incidents were handled swiftly and appropriate action taken. "Any safeguarding matter is one too many and as such we review our practices on an ongoing basis and have introduced further measures as part of our commitment to delivering a consistently high-quality experience for our callers." Incidents are investigated by the charity's Serious Safeguarding Panel and are reported to the Charity Commission, Samaritans said.
    • I think this type of attitude helps keep Panjab economically backwards.
    • This history seems true. It's not a new discovery, and this Zorowar Singh palit has a history and legacy in Bassi Pathaan that people there still acknowledge.  Info has been out about Zorowar Singh Palit since the late 60s at least, when Ganda Singh put out Sri Gursobha. That people here haven't heard of him here says more about their own piss poor study of history than anything else.  Plus this figure being from a tarkhan background would have motivated the usual jut casteists to jealously try and bury his memory, so that probably played a big part in his occlusion and hence so much ignorance about him. I'm not too familiar with Uhdoke, what makes you say the above about him?
