These issues need to be discussed openly and frankly.

Yes there is a huge problem with conversions in panjabi community.

I have been looking into christian conversions in panjab. Missionary heavily target the dalit communities.

This is because of our own rifts, historic and present differences and discrimination's between us. Christians have only taken advantage of the situation.

Although I am very against the overall stance taken by sangat Tv,(they went cuckoo after the riots) they did well in including the baalmikhi community recently. We need to show solidarity with Ravidasia and Baalmikhi communities. They make up the largest majority of Panjabs indigenous people.

We need them to feel comfortable in the Panth, part of the Panth- because tomorrow they will be our brothers in Khalistan too.

Mods, please close this topic before it turns into a hate vill.

Avoiding a topic will not make it go away. While Sikhs are focusing on Hindus and Muslims converting us, hardly anyone in Punjab or outside is focusing on the Christian threat to Sikhs. They are like the silent threat which we do not even know about. Just go to the villages of Punjab and you will see how more SIkhs have converted to Christianity then to Hinduism or Islam. Nearly all the Chura(majbi) community in Amritsar Gurdaspur area have now become Christians. Once they are all practicing Sikhs. Demographically this is a very dangerous trend for the Sikh community of Punjab. Unlike the Chamar community who were hardly Sikhs even before their 20th century man made religion called Ravidasia(which has no direct link to Bhagat Ravidas Jee) the Churas were actually practicing Sikhs. We have to take direct responsibility for them going out of the faith. They need to be brought back home. We just need to make an effort.

As for those trolls in the west who have become Christians, they are just average Punjabis who were hardly practicing Sikhs even before they become Christians, many of them had family problems or drug abuse problems from where they get to meet these sweet talkingChristian missionaries. Christianity is a religion full of holes and can be easily proven false. Even their bible is full of contradictions.

No not really. Rich arent interested in sikhi in Punjab nor sgpc pracharaks are capable of convincing anyone to keep Sikh rehit. They may allot 50crore to prachar committee but very less spent in actual field pracharaks. those few pracharuks stay home and collect paycheck.

There is a dire need of an independent prachar body in Punjab to fill the needs of Sikh community.

Prachar has been the biggest problem in our religion. Though Sikhism is the greatest religion on the universe, we are unlucky that we have not had good leadership or preachers to propagate the tenets and values to our own people. The teachings of our religion are the best as compared to any other, our sacrifices are unparalleled in the history of humanity but sorry to say, we are our own worst enemies. We should all be grateful to be born or been initiated into Sikhism which shows the most practical way to find Waheguru. Our Ten Masters have lead by example and the Eleventh Master Guru Granth Sahib ji shows us the path in every sphere of life. We have institutions like Guru Ka Langar which cannot be matched by any other religion. We are not bound by any superstions or rituals. We do not start our lifes as sinners as propagated by Christianity. We do not observe meaningless fasts like Muslims nor worship millions of gods like Hindus. The list of uniqueness and greatness of our religion is endless. But these qualities of our religion our recognized by very lucky few. It is our responsibility to spread the message of our Gurus and educate our own people and others about the greatness of our religion and not wait for someone else to do it for us .

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
