VahegurooJeeKaKhalsaa!

VahegurooJeeKiFatheh!

SangatJeeo,

Hope all is Guroo Guroo! :-) Daas hasn't logged onto SS for a pretty long time but figured maybe I should for this...I'm not sure how many users are still here from 'my time' but about 3 years ago I finally decided to start drawing and painting again after losing touch with this hobby for such a long time.

When I started, it was simply because I wanted to enjoy doing art again, but over the last couple of years I got a lot of positive feedback from Gursikhs to do more, and share more. To my surprise, I found that a lot of people actually liked what I did and I started getting requests for prints, originals and commissions which was all truly overwhelming!

I wasn't too sure about pursuing this 'demand' initially because I didn't want the reason as to why I did art to change. However, after a lot of encouragement from everyone I have finally decided to put my work out there and make it more widely available to everyone.

It has taken me a while to get to where I am now but this message is to let you know that with Guru Sahib's Kirpaa I have launched my website http://www.iminderarts.com where you can view, comment, and buy prints of my work! I'll be running the site like a blog, and there are plenty of things in the pipeline too, including new features to be added to the site, so stay tuned!

I'm indebted to everyone around me who has helped and inspired me to come this far with my art, so thank you to all, especially GuruSahib! :-)

Feel free to contact me with any questions/comments that you have, and please help me spread the word by forwarding this message to your contacts and groups who you think might appreciate my artwork.

Guroo Raakhaa!

You're an inspiration, Singh. I had a natural inclination towards art as a youngster but life conspired against me and took me in another direction. Glad you're living the dream.

    • Please explain how I am racist?
    • Work to set up first Sikh varsity outside India on in US city Updated: Jan 25, 2020 22:02 IST By Surjit Singh , Hindustan Times, Amritsar A group of NRIs donated 125 acre land to set up the university, work on which started in August last year A group of NRIs have donated nearly 125 acres of land for setting up ‘Khalsa University’ in Bellingham city of the United States, which will be the first Sikh varsity outside India, and are working on the project to start the proposed courses in a year or so. Bellingham is a coastal city in Washington state near the Canada border. US-based Manjit Singh Dhaliwal, who along with other US-based Sikh families donated the land for the purpose, said, “The work was initiated in August last year. The project has got shape with the grace of Waheguru.” Dhaliwal, who hails from Chowkiman village in Ludhiana district and was felicitated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in Amritsar for his contribution to Sikhism through the upcoming varsity, said, ““We have purchased two buildings of a government college with the help of members of the community to run the courses. We have got licenses by the education board and the local government,” he said. “We have got online courses approved by the government and they will be introduced in the building we have purchased. We will approach Sikhs across the world to seek cooperation to develop the campus. Though we are short of funds, I hope the sangat will help us realising our dream and in a year we will be able to start all the proposed courses”, said Dhaliwal who owns gas stations in Bellingham, which is adjacent to Canadian city of Vancouver. “The university will offer courses in engineering, medical, law, languages, accountancy etc besides gurbani research, Sikh history and gurmat sangeet. Local people of other faiths are happy because value-based education is the need of the hour at a time when youths are getting hooked to drugs and other things,” he added. Accompanying him, Prof Gurnam Singh, former head of Gurmat Sangeet department of Punjabi University, Patiala, who is involved in the project, told that the project is on its initial stage and few classes have started in the building which is temporary campus. SGPC senior vice president Rajinder Singh Mehta presented him a ‘siropa’ (robe of honour), a replica of the Golden Temple and memorial coins and religious books. SGPC-run Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, is considered as the sole Sikh university. https://m.hindustantimes.com/cities/work-to-set-up-first-sikh-varsity-outside-india-on-in-us-city/story-J0TL6vQz6h2twluxzmPkGN.html
    • Should we really be proud of these soldiers who were fighting for the occupiers in lands they had no business in l persoanly am ashamed of them for being lap dogs to the Brits
    • That quote is 100 percent true of churches period. The fact you instantly swung and happened to connect doesn't change the fact you're a racist bro.
    • Well Puzzled confirmed that his friend was Jamaican who mentioned this to him. Jamaicans in the UK are Afro-Caribbean.  It's like saying that corruption is common with Gurdwara commitee members. These Gurdwara commitee members are Sikh and it is true.  Nothing racist about pointing it out.
