Does anyone see a sea change in Punjab at the moment. The amount of shock and anger at the way the sarpanch slapped the bibi which if it had happened a few years ago would not even have made headlines. Also the way the bibi and her supporters handled the attempt by the congress to make political capital out of the incident shows that some people in Punjab do not want to be taken for granted by the political parties. Now this brave girl showing what the whole Panth thinks of Badal. Let's hope that Punjab gets a Sikh spring next year!

It may hurt some of you to know this but you dont have to be Sikh to want a good, non-corrupt government. If you want revolution, work with your brothers and sisters, however they look. Rather than pining for some magical plateu of holy people to get killed rather than you.

The Badal dynasty does not forget or forgive lightly. It is likely the girl or her family will be harassed when all the media attention has died down. It is likely they will be denied oppotunities and police cause trouble. The panth should remain vigilent and follow this girl and her family carefully and protect them. At the sightest bit of dodgy play we must put light on it.

Totally agree.

Maximum respect for this sister. She and her family have absolutely nothing.....but still were principled enough to turn down tainted goods. Maximun respect. And well done to the Canadian Singh that put his hands in his pocket and paid for a brand new scooter. I suggest, whenever she passes someone on one of the 'badal bicycles' on a kutcha road....she runs them off the road ensuring badals face lands on a hot steaming pile of cow dung.

Anyway.....I didn't realise Punjab was a monarchy ruled by a King. The only people in the world who have their immages plastered all over the place are despotic dictators . Never heard of elected officials forgetting that its the public's money being spent...not theirs. Badal's in good company though : Saddam Hussein.....Gadaffi....Mubarak.....Assad. There's a 'spring' somewhere out there with his name on it :cool2:
