Yes, stop eating meat and start bhagti- start doing naam simran(Attunement to Naam is attunement to all pervading balanced Truth) as instructed in gurbani- don't just read gurbani, Do it, and become it..

Great to know that you want to be on right path. To encourage you further, I would suggest you to start meditating few times a day; perhaps start with reciting japji sahib. At the same time get yourself familiar with Sikh history; read few books or go through online Sikh history on our important events/biographies etc..

Regarding your diet, skim thru our religious figures of past and you will see all of them on strict vege diet and the reason why our gurdwaras langar only serve simple vege meals.

However, I would suggest you to start with gurbani, learn their meanings, read them.. Listen em... Once you become familiar with gurbani then only you will be able to understand real treasure of Sikh dharm.

Just go gurdwara and see if theres any classes for you to attend... gatka.. santheya... workshops.. anything! and get a good group of friends.... go to programs..even if you cant sit the whole way through... just through small steps like that.. inside ull start feeling as though you WANT to read gurbani and you WANT to do simran without people telling you. Sangats the key ! And as for socialising.. find a good group of friends and do things which wont be like clubbin and stuff... its amazing what sangat and a good group of friends does to a person
