Work- Smoking Situation

[Guest advice pls]

ok as a Singh i keep away from places where ppl smoke etc,

but i 'may' be asked to manage a project for National no smoking week.

i don't mind that as it is a type of seva and it's work,

my concern is from a sikhi/panthic point of view, a Singh appearing in marketing material/adverts to do with the campaign! even if the campaign is to help ppl stop smoking, it's more the assocaition!!!1

whats everyones views?

I think its awesome that you be used as the face of a campaign to curb smoking.

I don't see the problem. If people can't take the time to read the information that's their fault and not yours.

If you worked for me - I would allow you to be excused from the campaign - but I would not pay you either!!

Its a good sewa infact , as others said .

You should be happy that you are a part of campaign that can save so many people from this bad habit .

The more awareness , the better .

That being said , With a sikh face opposing tobacco , smoking , I guess people will infact associate sikhi image as being anti-smoking , which in my opinion , is a good thing .

This has given me inspiration. I want to promote anti-shisha anti-hookah amongst our sikh community as it has drawn a lot of our youth into smoking as a norm!
