But one thing i want to add. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. Whatever choice you make, don't start getting all scared and feeling guilty etc. That will have a bad effect on you mentally. I have seen it happen to people around me. We need to have confidence in ourselves, and trust in God that he truly understands our intentions and loves us.

My personal experience - I wore a Helmet over my small Dastaar (not my big turban) when I went for Carting event, this was compulsory.

Sikh regiment paratroopers( compulsory amritdharis ) wear helmets during parachute jumps. Cos at that altitude and speed , the dastar will just unravel in the first few seconds.

I too had to wear a helmet over my keski when I did rappelling during heliborne ops. It was for safety reasons... The keski could unravel and get stuck in the heli's rotor blades and cause damage
