Thank you ji @ukLondonsikh, the sad thing i dont get to do seva as much as i would like because of my health. After 2yrs of not being able to do it due to bad health was able to do a bit. A mahapursh told me to do seva, but unfortunately am unable to because of health. I have seen a lot of people not being able to do seva for whom even once would be a dream come true whether they are moneh or amritdhari. I fully understand what onlyfive is saying but its not all about those that can do seva when they want. Its about treasuring and respecting the seva too as for some it means a lot.

But the most important thing is its in Waheguru's hands of who they want to do seva. They are the one that make it happen.

@ simran ... sorry to read that re your health not allowing u to perform seva as often as you'd like. the very fact that u want to do it will improve your health and are clearly someone committed to Sikhi will ensure your health improves. keep telling yourself that u will get better over time + genuinely you will see the results of that vishvaas in ParmAathma over time. @simran ... don't believe the hype about "karma". In Sanskrit karma means our actions in THIS life. When the Muslims butchered the Sikhs ... our people did not suffer because of karma - they suffered due to the evil of the Mughals. Similarly in 1984, the anti-Sikh pogroms were brought on not by the bad karma of Sikhs ... but by the evil deeds of Indira+Rajiv ... so remember that we make our own luck within this life (subject to limitations outside of our control ... even if u don't manage to do sewa ... it's not because God doesn't want you to do it ... it's just what the lottery of life deals us).

However, also know this, the person that struggles more in life due to health, gareebi + various unfortunate circumstances is closer to God as a result than the person who lives an identical jeevan but has great health, no money troubles + no family problems etc.

For example, if me, you + some Tamil kid sit an exam about Punjabi history. If me, you + the Tamil kid score 80% ... then the Tamil kid deserves more credit given that he's not Punjabi. Similarly, God sees how hard everyone's "life exam" is and who are those closest to Rabh as a result.

Why can't moneh partake in langar di seva?

It has been proven even in science when you play some bad lyrics in a room the plants in the room are effected negatively by it. Same with water....play some bad lyrics by it and the water crystals will turn a deformed shape. When we cook food we are suppose to be doing simran and focusing on Maharaj. What we think, the way we act..all this negative or positive energy has an affect on the food.

Can you provide a reference to this research? And by that I don't a link to another forum or the sun. And can liquid water contain crystals - utter nonsense!!

I'm open to shifting my stance when a convincing argument is made but trying to justify a point that may be right using a harry potter science is a comical and makes a mockery of rehit.

This is common knowledge in the world. Just do a quick google search and you will find the info you are looking for (i think even Sikhnet had an article about it...about the water crystals. Honestly i never cared about the science bit because even before the science research came out, I was advised by Gursikhs that the food is effected by the person who made it.

Edit: Ask a person who eats meat about the plant thing. They know this forsure because now they believe that they can eat meat by Sikhi teachings as plants also feel as animals do.

Speaking in general:

These forums become a mental block for some because they don't practice Sikhi themselves......do naam simran and when such things are stated, then they find a real hard time believing them. When going into sangat many speak about these things and they bicker and argue about what is right and what is wrong. I found that sangat, which left this kind of stuff in a instance and went straight into doing naam simran and we all understand on a similar level, so are higher and some are lower, but the lower one's understand their own mistakes and keep moving forward. We discuss, but always know Gursikhs are right and we are wrong. This is the kind of sangat, which is needed. But i see this more as a Gurdwara where sangat with all sorts of beliefs come at one place and everyone sits in the langar hall bickering on who is right and who is wrong. Some have cha cups in there hand and others are drinking milk.

Before the Church was killing scientist because the Church didn't understand logic. But today agnostic, atheist, theist want to kill Gursikhs for providing logic. It's weird how that happened. I guess it's karma :lol2:

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
