anyone from the area know of this inicident?...once again its the pendu uneducated granthis taking mahraaj to these places all for the $....the family should be infromed and educated about this issue with pyaar and nimrata..the granthis should be taught a lesson they will never forget with a belt buckle

Fight at Indian Sikh wedding??!!?

I have just now returned from what started out a lovey Sikh Indian wedding. My best friends brother who I know well was getting married. The ceremony and after party took place in a huge private school in Hampshire which was hired for the wedding. I know there was some debate about having the actual ceremony at the school because of the Holy Book. But this was because the nearest Gurdwara was about two hours away. It was a great wedding with lots of singing and dancing, with some great food too. Then out of know where a coach arrived with lots of angry older Sikh men. They even had bats, sticks and other weapons on them. Luckily they did not attack people, more arguing and pushing, but it was quite a scary affair. What i do not understand is that the family asked permission at the Gurdwara to take the Holy Book for this wedding weeks before and they were allowed. Also it sounded like these hooligans traveled from the midlands due to their accents. Have any of you got any information or have experienced something like this?

Please could you not refer to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as a Holy Book. I'm sure you don't consider Nirankar's Bani as a book.

Relax man it wasn't a Sikh who was saying that it was just someone who was attending a wedding and doesn't know any better. As to that issue...those people who aske for Guruji to come to the hall and those "granthis" who allowed it...wow.

I just have one quick question however. A lot of people bring Guruji to their house when they have a Paath or something going on. Is that acceptable?

I'm skeptical about the whole thing. Skeptical, because even the basic premise of the story is based on an untruth. He says the reason the wedding was held in the school was because there nearest Gurdwara was at least 2 hours away. Well.....unless the wedding party were travelling on a giant snail that can't be right. There are 4 Gurdwaras in Southampton, 1 in Portsmouth and a couple in the north of the county in Basingstoke. Thus, logically speaking, if you look at a map of the whole of Hampshire you will see that there is not a single spot in the whole county where one is more than half an hour away from a Gurdwara.

When a story starts off with a blatant lie you have to wonder how truthfull the rest of the story can possibly be.
