no anser to this, and there never will be. all respective martial arts have their offerings.

it also depends what you have acces to.

in the 70s there was only karete/judo/kung fu and boxing, 80s is when Muay Thia and kick boxing came to the west. 90s things like vale judo/shoot fighting came about but was only about for a few years

now it all about mma. who nos whats next.

Reading Gurbani or doing Mool Mantra Jaap

Those aren't martial arts

It depends on what you want to learn. If you want to learn pure self defense from knives, chokes, sticks, headlocks, etc, then Krav Maga. If you want to learn to fight then there is Muay Thai, BJJ, Judo, Boxing...whatever you want really. Pick whatever will suit your needs. There is no "best martial art" there are best martial arts for people who know what they want to get out of training

Bhai Sahib - This is essential training for a Sikh Warrior according to Guru's Mat. This kamai will create martial arts within you.

Here are a couple of quotes from the warriors manual (Sri Dasam Granth)

Veerji, I know exactly what you meant, but I don't think the OP was referring to doing naam jap.

usually mma is just 3 arts, predominantly muay Thai for standup, BJJ for ground, and sometimes wrestling. And often times there are no such things as MMA classes, the fighters train individually in each and put it all together. So like you can go train in Judo and karate, and apply them together yourself and technically it would be "mma"
