?Lt Gen (Retd) R S Dayal, recipient of the Maha Vir Chakra and former Governor of Goa passed away here on Sunday after prolonged illness. He was 83 and is survived by his wife and daughter. He was cremated at Chandigarh on Monday.

He was born on November 15, 1928 and was selected for the Indian Military Academy in 1942 after doing graduation. He was commissioned in the Indian Army in Punjab Regiment and dispensed the 1st Battalion. There was 50 independent Parachute Brigade in this Battalion during the 1948 India-Pakistan war.

?Dayal was a former Deputy-Governor of Pondicherry and the Andaman and Nicobar Island and also former Governor of Goa, took his last breathes at the Command Hospital on Sunday evening.

He had been suffering from prostate cancer, detected a few years ago. He was admitted in hospital few days back for terminal care after his condition depreciate.

He was the Chief Staff Officer who asked to represent the plans for Bluestar. Though being a Sikh, he did not shave his beard or cut his hair and still he wore a turban during the every operation

Narakdharis are the clowns who started this crap by opening fire on akj singhs on vesakhi 1978. Things escalated from there, eventually leading up to bluestar. They are officially known as nirankaris and they love to call us 'orthodox', a label which only seals the khalsa's authority as original.
