Recommended Posts

One benti is with these topics get police officers to make statements invite the police as long as you don't have statements from the horses mouth so many people won't believe and loads of people will ignore these cases have police involvement get police officers down to the studio get some officers talking about it.

Is this show regarding the girl who was targetted by gang of pakistani muslim guys for sexual exploitation?

I think it would be important not to make children scared of adults or even give the perception all adults are like this because we have already seen a raise of the generation of youths who do not have any respect for adults and the elderly due to mishandled over sensationalisation of this issue and scaremongering parents and children. Child grooming and exploition is an important issue but should be handled in a correct manor where the child learns discipline and respect for adults, the use of modern computer/mobile fone technology and implications of misuse of it and knows what is right and wrong so if they ever encounter a predetor in their company they can let an adult know who they trust.

Too many parents give their kids internet webcam enabled latptops and sometimes kids will naturally want to do things they are not supposed to without realising the full consequences of what they do and thats when they fall into the trap their abuser.

An interview will be aired on Sikh Channel 840 this Saturday, (11th Feb 2012) at 8pm, with a family who lost their child to grooming.

Being bought up to educated British born young Sikh parents, the child was just 12 years old when she was a target of sexual exploitation by adults.

The interview follows the family’s journey from a happy household to a real life horror story. It exposes loop-holes in social services, police and schools who all collectively failed to protect this child.

It uncovers the highly sophisticated methods of grooming and entrapment employed by paedophiles working in organised networks across cities.

We have no words to express our sincere gratitude to the family who allowed us to film this for a second time, following the cancellation of the first video last month.

In doing so, reliving all the distressing details and relaying them again in front of the cameras, displaying amazing courage and defiance against taboos associated with this hideous crime.

Deep show, full respect to SAS and Sikh Channel.

this is the first step towards sikhs actually doing something about this issue. Now we are raising awareness, whats the next step?

please email sikhchannel and thank them for broadcasting this real programme about a real issue. info@sikhchannel.tv

sangattv should be ashamed.

could SAS please give us an idea of how many of these cases they handle on a monthly basis.

Great show well done Sikh channel slighty spoiled at the end with the phone in by a dangerous woman in my opinion...A so called Dr Gill from roehamption univeristy who has a devious anti-male agenda, tried to hijack the show from exploitation of children into a domestic violence one. And as we know domestic violence can happen in both genders. Men should not let women like her ever get away with expressing her views without countering and telling feminist extremist women like her that men suffer domestic violence too as statistics prove. Also it is usualy the mother who gives out domestic violence to kids in the home these days but Dr gill will rather brush over those facts.

But anyway lets congratulate Sikh channel, the sikh awareness team and the family who have been victimised for raising profile of an important issue.

Is this available online anywhere?

As this was recent (in under a year ago) maybe it would've been more considerate to show something like this once the family where strong enough to cope with what they have had to go through. Even if the family agreed to the documentary it would've been respectable to not show it so soon because when people are upset/depressed/stressed we arent in the correct fram of mind. Not saying I'm against what Sikh channel have shown just saying they could've thought bit more about the family in first place.

If this documentary is online please post link for those who missed it and also let's all do ardas for this family& others who are suffering in the same way. May Guru je give them strength to get through this painful and difficult time and may the their daughter return to her home as non of us can really imagine what they are going through. Akaaal

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

This is what Sikhism is all about to be supportive and not to judge, well done to Sikh Channel and SAS for showing courage, awareness, intelligence and empathy in this very sensitive topic, now hopefully the Sikh Panth will have the 'tools' at their disposal to safeguard their children

Moving forward as typical the Police have been found to be lacking and have failed to enforce and uphold the law they are supposed to represent.

If there are Sikhs out there with the necessary education, career and political connections there needs to be calls for a very high level public enquiry in to their failings of the Police.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
