"Mahil, from Maidstone road in Chatham, Kent, was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm."

she'll get maximum around 5years? and out in about 2years... there is no justice there.

Seems like gagandeep was obsessed with her more so brought on by the murder of his father and needing someone to be there for him and this Mundill Mahil girl lured him to his murder. All three are guilty of murder in my view it was a pre-meditated and planned attack to take cause him serious harm resulting in his death.

Boy, I know some guys who would react pretty badly to anyone trying to rape a member of their family or even a close friend.

If he did do this. Then I'm not at all surprised at what happened to him.

Plus people need to acknowledge that having kesh and a dumalla doesn't make you immune to lust and its effects.

Has the 'rape' argument been accepted as the reason for what happened? So Mahil said she was about to be raped and the court accepted this? Whilst I wouldn't want to begin questioning the British legal system - because that means whenever something positive happens for Sikhs we'll be hypocrites to say justice was done just because it suits us in that particular instance - I find it disturbing how Mahil's rape plea was accepted as truth and the only person who could've disputed her claim is dead.

I remember reading about the vast sums of money the lad had at his disposal, and how he paid for her university fees. Surely that would be more of a motive for murder (i.e. not having to pay back the cash)?

sadly this is a point that nindaks will seize upon.

i spoke to gagan shortly after his fathers death and several times over the next few months, but he never let on, how deeply affected he was over his father's death.

Also, we can say we never truly know somebody, but the rape accusations have only come from 1 side - the girl.

It is an important point. Personally if a girl was raped in my family there would probably be hell to pay. I'll be honest, if the guy had a dastar, the barefaced hypocrisy would drive menfolk into an even worse frenzy.

Now I'm not saying he did do this. I don't know - I wasn't there. But no one can turn around and say he definitely didn't either.

One thing i will say though is that in this country there does seem to be this subtle bias towards females (ESPECIALLY ones from ethnic minorities). I think it plays from the well know complex whites have about ethnic men being perceived as women dominating beasts and the females as delicate victims (and themselves as some sort of saviours).

And please.....don't think anyone who looks at this without a favourable disposition towards Gagandeep is a 'nindak'.

When it comes to courts and truth, it all comes down to saving yourself from getting a harsher or sentence at all. A common and encouraged practice between lawyers and clients is for the lawyer to tell the client don't tell me a word about what happened until i get the facts from the prosecutor. This is done so the client can make up a story that gives them the upper hand on the facts, which the prosecutor had to share with the defandants lawyer. Once the accused hear's the facts then the lawyer tell's them to say what happened. Obviously now the accused will make up a story that will get them out of a harsher sentence.

We don't know what facts the court have to say Gagandeep tried to rape mahil. If it's mahil's word only, then that is most likely a story made up to cover her own self from getting a harsher sentence. If they have actual text messages where Gagandeep is apologizing for trying to get with her (pushing himself on her), then forsure mahil is not lying and it's a true event.

It's best to wait for the court to release the whole case, so no nindiya takes place here.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
