whereas I've got nothing against this the militant "Chamar power" songs and speeches are defiantly Politically and Religiously uncomfortable for the future of Punjab

So it's okay for one group to bang on about their own rural caste but once the underdogs start doing it it becomes 'politically and religiously uncomfortable' - you can't see any hypocrisy in that?

these guys may seem docile but they are crazy look at history from panj pyareh till beant singh who killed indira gandhi. they seem to have a thick skin and higher threshold before becoming aggressive but as history proves when they raise their fists it will be remembered.

anyway I dont think there is anything to worry about from these people as they dont seem to step out with any malice in them which is surprising considering the hard time they have had through history.

its not like they are turning hindu/muslim/christian or whatever but focus their belief on bhagat ravidas who has an important place withing our religion too.

Do you even know the first thing about Punjab ? I really don't think yopu do.

90% of songs about jatts have been written by people who are not jatt.

90% of songs about jatts have been sung by people who are not jatt.

100% of the epic stories of Punjab, about jatts, such as Heer Ranjha, Mirza Sahiban etc were written by people who were not jatt.

Is it the fault of the jatt sikh that non-jatts, throughout Punjab's history, have chosen to make the lead characters in their stories and songs about them ?

Whether we are talking about songs or plays, the fact is that its about Punjabi Folklore. 'Punjabi Folk' has tradition and history behind it. There is no tradition and history behind what the chamars are doing now....i.e singing songs about themselves and declaring themselves a separate religion from Sikhism. Everything about that is devisive and artificial.

You need to learn the basics of Punjabi folk's history Dal Singh. For example, when Waris Shah wrote Heer Ranjha, the reason he made both lead characters Jatts is because it was common feeling at that time for non-sikhs to associate Sikhism with jatts. i.e because it was at the time that the Sikh misls were taking over Punjab the non-sikhs saw it as the rural bumpkin jatts taking over. Thus, the tradition started whereby the 'jatts' were used as a synonym for 'Sikhs'. In fact, even many of the even older Persian accounts of Sikhs mistakingly sometimes refer to the Sikhs as the 'jatts'.

Your misguided notions fella, are clearly based on hatred as much as they are from jealousy.

West London Singh.......

Boring standard pro caste apologism...

zzzzzzz....

Singhs have NOTHING to worry about from Chamars....the casteist fudus who've been giving them a hard time have though (and rightly so in my opinion).

All Sikhs have to ask ourselves. Can we honestly put our hands on our hearts and say that all of our society been true to this vision of our beloved Baba Nanak?

ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਬੁ ਏਕੁ ਤੂ ਹੋਰਿ ਜੀਆ ਕੇਤੇ ਲੋਅ ॥੩॥

You are the One True Lord and Master of all the other beings, of so many worlds. ||3||

ਨੀਚਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ ਨੀਚੀ ਹੂ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਚੁ ॥

Those who are lowest of the low class, the very lowest of the low;

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਥਿ ਵਡਿਆ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਰੀਸ ॥

Nanak seeks the company of those. Why should he try to compete with the great?

ਜਿਥੈ ਨੀਚ ਸਮਾਲੀਅਨਿ ਤਿਥੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖਸੀਸ ॥੪॥੩॥

In that place where the lowly are cared for-there, the Blessings of Your Glance of Grace rain down. ||4||3|

Truth is that some of our people have been behaving DISGRACEFULLY towards so called 'lower castes', the opposite of what Guru ji is talking about above.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
