Ok bro, Im not comparing them with each other, but using them as examples of keeping suchumta.

Concerning urination/toilet, i can only speak of people who i know who do akhand paths, and they go to the toilet, then ishnaan and then go to gurdwara a little before raul, so they dont need to visit toilet again soon.

When Bhai Jasvir Singh Rode did Khalsa Niarapan March through our village, I was told the 5 Singhs went to the toilet before ishnan in the morning, then once they got into bana, they never went to toilet even for wee all day, unitl their sewa was doen for the day.

  • 2 weeks later...

what if the male ragi or the guy in the sangat happens to be gay <edited> ??

kaam still persists in that case lol

Lets take it easy on this joke... male ragi gay? .. n sangat gay? i highly doubt you will ever find a gay Sikh anywhere.. Bani teaches us of the relationship between a man and a woman.. and that marriage is for support and pro-creation.. Sikhi is based on a family oriented culture.. so lets not go too far in calling a ragi, who does Kirtan, gay.. thanks

This Shabad is by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Raag Aasaa on Pannaa 472

First Mehla

As a woman has her periods, month after month,

so does falsehood dwell in the mouth of the false; they suffer forever, again and again

They are not called pure, who sit down after merely washing their bodies.

Only they are pure, O Nanak, within whose minds the Lord abides. ||2||

No need to write a paragraph on this non-issue.

Sant Bhindranwale brought it right to the point!.. Women shouldn't be discriminated in any way.. be it taking Amrit, be it doing Kirtan, be it doing Seva, be it doing Paath... however, a woman cannot become one of the Panj Pyare.. this is from the times of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.. when at Keshgarh Sahib on Vaisakhi Day 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked for a head, he did not specify he wanted a man's head or a woman's head,, he simply said that he needs 1 head... out of the Panj Pyare, not one woman offered her head to Guru Sahib...

SIKHI IS AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY!... homosexuality has to do with purely lust... and doesnt Sikhi teaches to control the Panj Chor? with Lust being one of them'?

I have not read al the threads but will write the following: Puratan Maryada, women are not allowed to do keertan at darbar sahib or allowed to be the pujaris / granthis. Please read Gurbillas Patshahi 6 and the Sri Suraj Parkash for the maryada and when it was created.
