how old are you ??

it could be because of hormonal changes in your body.

Go out , meet new people and unless you are suffereing from clinical depression , you will very soon be jolly and happy :)

And if you are suffering from clincal depression , ask your parents to take you to psychologists .

You are lucky to have a family and friends .. so don't waste the time you have on this planet by being sad :biggrin2:

So if they want you to talk. Perfect talk about Guru Sahib and Sikh history. But be careful, sometimes it can turn into you are trying to teach others and you can lose yourself in the ego. So start every sentence with Satguru said, Gurmukhs said, I learned from Satguru, I learned from a Gurmukh, Rehat says.... This way you always give credit back to Satguru and tell yourself, I am the lowest of the low. Talk to your mom about what took place throughout the day, but then put a SIkhi spin on it. Like how Satguru would have handled the situations you were put in. This will make your mom happy and you can continue on SIkhi by analyzing your actions. Ask your mom about specific events of Sikh history. Use a similar strategy with your friends. Eventually they will get the point that regular talk is boring for you and might just get the hint that I also should start reading Gurbani to see why she is so deep into it.

Kaur ji don't worry everyone goes through this phase in life and it's natural for parents and friends to be concerned.

You just need to strike a BALANCE between Spiritual and Temporal world.

While at home do what your parents expect from you as their child.

When you visit Gurdwara, join Saadh Sangat, listen to Keertan-Katha, sing Gurbani, volunteer for Seva.

Make new friends there and converse with them.

This will make you feel better.

I kinda agree with this, making conversations on what is important to you, will drill it in to them, that you are more interested in Sikhi and less the world, but on the flip your Mum and Dad are your Gurus and should be respected as such, do what they say like help around the house help with the dishes be around more so they see your around and not just locked in your room, I kinda used to do this, but im lucky i have alot of mates who follow Sikhi.

Although it is very good that you are constantly listening to Kirtan, etc., don't become withdrawn from the world. You can still keep Doing Naam Jap while talking to people and stuff. Remember, Guru Nanak Dev Ji told us not to become like Sadhus, withdrawn from the world and hermit like. Sikhs are part of the world they inhabit

dont worry, just keep doin as much simran and bani as you can.................... the phase your in regarding not wanting to talk to anyone that will pass and change a number of times over the years, its absolutley no problem........you dnt need to go out looking for friends or ppl to socialise with or talk to, or boys to talk to or anything, just do what you sed your doing and make time to sit in the sangat and sing kirtan

vjkk vjkf,

thank you everybody!

its not that im depressed.. or dont like company.. im fine if someone is sitting in the same room with me but i just dont enjoy talking :s i dont know why.. ive been trying to figure out why im feeling like this.. but i myself have no clue! i dont exactly sit in my room.. i sit out in the living room and just relax so if someone does talk to me i talk but other than that i just dont :s. and yes, im trying to help my mom out as much as possible and be there for her to help. But i dont want to talk.. or almost feel like i dont have the energy to. and yes not sitting alone by myself. But the thing that kind of worries me.. is if i dont start talking my friends and family think im ignorning them.. and slowly we will drift away. cause this is what is currently happening.. and my fam is telling me to balance my life before i completly lose everythhing. but i dont feel alone or anything.. just no intrest in talking. nd defiently no.. i dont need attention from others to feel loved in order to talk.. dont need to look anywhere such as boys to get attention.. thats a definet no!
