Rajoana To Be Appointed Jathedar Of Akal Takht

Let me put some points across regrading Bhai Balwant Singh ji and appointing him Jathedar:

  • If it is to save his life, then what will we do with Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara and any others know or in the future who face a similar situation, appoint them all Jathedars of the Akal Takht ?
  • If the Government can attack and destroy the Akal Takht as in 1984, then surley they will not hesitate to execute the Jathedar, after they have controlled and assessesd the possible reaction.
  • Bhai Balwant Singh ji is a leader of the freedom movement, by being Jathedar of Akal Takht, he will be drawn into the current system (it cannot be changed overnight), of being paid and reporting to the SGPC, and then as that is elected under the constitution of India, will be under that system, which he is fighting against.
  • If Bhai Sahib ji speaks out as he is doing, then the SGPC, under the influence of SAD Badal (they have most members), he will be silenced like Bhai Ranjit Singh ji and displaced, thus from HERO to Zero.
  • As Jathedar of Akal Takht he has a responsibility for all SIKHs, like it or not that includes those that do not support Khalistan or are linked to Congress etc, something that is against his principles.
  • The Akal Takht jathedar has to be able to do bothe MIRI and PIRI, he has to have a lot of Knowledge about Gurmat and Gurbani, which is i suppose some type of course or Santhi etec at Damdami Taksal.
  • To be leader of the Sikhs does not mean you have to be Jathedar of Akal Takht, look at Sant Jarnail Singh Bhrindwale ji.
  • By appointing him as Jathedar of Akal Takht is actually going to silence and control his voice.
  • He is a natural leader of the Sikhs, let him be that. Great Leaders like Nelson Mandela became President of South Africa, recently Aung San Suu Kyi, who was released from Prison, recently won in the elections in Burma. Being a poltical leader of a freedom movement has much more impact than Jathedar of Akal Takht, who is actually only a custodian of the Akal Takht on behal of the Panth.

Just some points to ponder on.

No he will not be. The jathedari should go back to Buddha Dal, as per puratan maryada, where the jathedar of Buddha Dal is the Jathedar of Sri Akaal Takht Sahib Ji

So you would have been happy for Santa Singh to have been the Jathedaar in the 1980's?

Lol...LMAO!

Like us all, Buddha Dal is living off the greatness of our predecessors! When the panth needed them, they were nowehre to be found...and at times supporting the Government.

Yup, this is the original maryada. Don't know how it will manifest today though...

Shut up! People like you get on my nerves. Finally abit of ekta in the panth and you decide one jathabandi is more worthy of the status of jathedar.

Why don't you shut up and keep your narrow minded opinions to yourself?

If someone has the denceny to provide information of what the puraatan maryada used to be, then be greatful for the insight. Don't talk complete rubbish. Suggesting such a thing will NOT ruin the "ekta" of the panth.

Oh dear penji!! Have you been hitting that special lassi that makes you have visions of lingam??

Firstly his name is Satpunga SINGH. This should give you a clue as to whether he is a penji or paaji. If you still can tell, well... let's just say you should've paid more attention in school!

Secondly, the lingam comment is completely uncalled for, and you are just showing your immaturiy and narrow-mindedness. Well done for that.

As I've said in a previous post, this is the traditional maryada. However, the picture posted by Singh559 says it all. Nawab Kapoor Singh Ji is a classic example of where the Panth has made a collective decision to appoint a jathedar.l

Nawab Kapoor Singh was selected a jathedar as in the term of a leader, not the Akal Takht Jathedar. What we must realise is that the Akal Takht Jathedar is not the leader of the Sikhs. See below for selection of Nawab Kapoor Singh.

What is required is for all Sikh Organisations both in India, i.e. SAD Mann, Panch Pardani, Dal Khalsa, Sant Samaj etc and those abroad to recognise him as a Jathedar of the Quom/Panth not just Akal Takht.

The title of Nawab

In 1733, the Mughal government decided, at the instance of Zakarya Khan, to revoke all repressive measures issued against the Sikhs and made an offer of a grant to them. The title of Nawab was conferred upon their leader, with a jagir consisting of the three parganas of Dipalpur, Kanganval and Jhabal.

After a Sarbat Khalsa, the Sikhs accepted the offer. Kapur Singh was unanimously elected as the leader and chosen for the title. He was reluctant, but could not deny the unanimous will of the community. As a mark of respect, he placed the robe of honour('Siropa') sent by the Mughals at the feet of the Panj Piare - amongst whom were Baba Deep Singh, Bhai Karam Singh and Bhai Buddh Singh (great-great-grandfather of Maharaja Ranjit Singh - before putting it on. The dress included a shawl, a turban, a jewelled plume, a pair of gold bangles, a necklace, a row of pearls, a brocade garme

main thing is to secure the release of Bhai Sahib... and a leader does not need an official seat, as we saw over last few weeks, patiala jai letters almost become hukamnamas for Sikhs around the world.

Main thing is after yearssss we have a leader the sangat respect, we must secure his release.

Today Delhi announce they will compensate over 1500 families, for massacring Sikh youth, this in it self is an open admittance that genocide took place.

The world needs to know this!.. and under whose supervision did this Genocide take place? Beants

The very person Rajoana stopped. Rajoana saved the lives of many 1000's if innocent youth

On these grounds we have a strong case for his release. The man who killed Panjabs Hitler!

We must push all avenues and have Bhai Sahib released

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
