1. Can a non-amritdhari achieve liberation and become one with God? If so, why become amritdhari and wear the 5K's?

2. If a person smokes, drinks, chases girls, cuts hair, eats meat, etc....but still does good deeds and remembers God, can they achieve liberation/salvation?

3. For those who believe in hell/heaven (Christians, Muslims), do they also suffer from the 8.4 million rebirths or do they end up in heaven or hell after death?

Liberation/Mukti cannot be achieved without Naam , Naam can only be acquired through Khandey di pauhal (Amrit).

Good deeds without Naam will result in recieving material pleasures in the next life , but material pleasures can be a torment ultimately.

The spiritual laws as stated in Gurbani are universal irrelevant of which religion one is born into.

The one and only route to eternal bliss is Naam Simran. Guru Ji's prescribed Rehat has to be maintained otherwise the Simran will become a jack asss>'s ishnaan. When a jack <banned word filter activated> is given a thorough wash with clean water , shampoo , soap , perfumes etc.. Within seconds he has to roll around on the mud in order to bring himself to the original state.

Khalsa Ji without Naam Simran our life is just a jack <banned word filter activated>'s ishnaan....

1. Can a non-amritdhari achieve liberation and become one with God? If so, why become amritdhari and wear the 5K's?

No, Gurbani states that we have to have Naam to be liberated and Gurbani states Naam can only be given by Guru Sahib ie the panj pyari through amrit.

2. If a person smokes, drinks, chases girls, cuts hair, eats meat, etc....but still does good deeds and remembers God, can they achieve liberation/salvation?

These are cardinal sins (extreme attachment to Maya) and other sins are gossiping, slandering, lying etc, so it means you are not a good person. It means you are far away from God. Good deeds are weak without japping naam, so no we cannot be liberated the way you have stated.

3. For those who believe in hell/heaven (Christians, Muslims), do they also suffer from the 8.4 million rebirths or do they end up in heaven or hell after death?

All religions under Maya such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism etc can go to heaven, but sometimes they go both hell and heaven depending on their bad and good deeds. Buddhism are capable of reaching higher than Islam and Christianity, but a Hindu who meditates on their god's name intensely can become a siddha like a buddha and reach a similar spiritual stage. Both have been mentioned of being able to reach Gyan Khand which is above Maya. Depending on how great their simran is, they can reach as high as Karam Khand, which means they have become true lovers of Vaheguru. HOWEVER, THEY CANNOT SAACHKHAND without going through Guru Sahib. Only that person who becomes a Gursikh is able to reach the highest spiritual level, which is Bhramgyan (becoming one with God and reaching Saachkhand level). Through japping Naam we learn this. It can also be learnt by studying Bhai Gurdas Jee's vaaran, Guru Granth Sahib jee and Dasam Granth.

1) a non amrit dhari cannot achieve liberation to god without amrit... The meaning of AM-RIT means free from births and deaths. Once you give your head to guru gobind singh ji, he has your arm held tight forever..thats if you keep in the rehat maryada and WEAR THE 5k's as guru gave this hukam.

2) smoking...cutting hair...etc..... Okay... As you know these things you have just named are all bujjer kurehits (cardinal sins) ..they are the worst things a sikh can do. The cardinal sins all destroy your body. ... For example..cutting hair- the hair keeps heat in ur head...the hair is the energy to god. Smoking drinking etc can also destory body, which i dont need to say because you already know how it can destory your body. Bottom line... So if you engage in these things...in other words disobey gods rules to ruin your body...how can you recieve liberation?..... The only way to god is take AMRIT.

3) all humans no matter what religion they are, go through the same things. There religion is just taught in different ways thats all. They are all gods people at the end of the day.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. So, just a bit more questions to go in a little in-depth, what about those who were not born in a Sikh family and therefore do not know anything about Sikhi or Naam, is it possible through their actions and choices, they can become reborn as a Sikh?

Yep, you're right through their good actions they will be taken to Guru Sahib by Vaheguru in their next life or in that same life. The same applies to devtay, daiyt, danavs, kinners, bhoot, etc. However, it does not mean they will be perfect as Sikhs because you will find sikhs living now who arent perfect due to their mayl (filth of sin from previous lives); a lot of them lack humility, compassion, tolerance, understanding, follow all of Guru Sahib's rehita etc. There are Good Gursikhs who try very hard to remove their mayl by taking the spiritual side of Sikhi seriously such as doing intense Naam and Gurbani Abhiyaas. It is rare to find a True Gursikh who practices all of Guru Sahib's teachings.

ਮੈਲੁ ਖੋਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਘ ਹਰੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਭਏ ਚੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ

Filth is washed away, millions of sins are dispelled, and the consciousness becomes immaculate and pure. ||1||Pause||

So, after ones filth is washed away that Gursikh begins to truly in love with Vaheguru and therefore becomes a Khalsa -

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਿਹ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੩॥

Says Kabeer, those humble people become pure - they become Khalsa - who know the Lord's loving devotional worship. ||4||3||

1st Naam isnt given by Punj piaria there duty is writen within guru granth shaib jee

This is the duty according to Guru Nanak Dev Jee

so gur karo j saach dhrirraavai |

akath kathaavai sabadh milaavai |

har kae log avar nehee kaaraa |

Guru Nanak Dev jee in this pangti has said make him your Guru

-Whos shows you the True Form of God, (also Guru Arjan dev jee says this is what Guru Raam Das jee done for him)

-Tells you the story of creation, Vahegurus game and attaches you with Shabad (Unhadh shabad)

-As God's people have no other work to do

This is the definition of Punj Piaaria

Now this is the duty of the Punj Piaaria, the duty of Sat Guru is to give you Naam

bin sathigur ko naao n paaeae prabh aisee banath banaaee hae |9|

Without the Sat Guru, no one finds the Name. Such is the making which God has made. ||9||

Now many people out of respect would not think to try judge any punj piaaria, But keep in mind Guru Nanak Dev Jee used to say dont believe in me untill i can prove to you who I am say I am, the way he used to was through practical teachings which people would follow and then reach a practical Avasta or by showing them Bhruhm Joot (Gods light from inside) which would have been enough for people to believe this was the right path.

So any person that puts him self forward for one of the Punj Piaaria should have this avasta where he can see God, hear God and tell you the full story of the Game and Vaheguru.

Mat Pulo Rai, you're right whoever wishes to take part in the Panj Pyare should be a Jyot Bigaasee Gurmukh Khalsa. However, if there is not one available, as there used to be in the past, then a Gursikh who keeps Rehit to the fullest, does Amritvela Naam Abhyaas Kamaaee and is free of Bujjar Kurehits can do Seva in Punj Pyare.

With the exception of Kes (accept hukam) and Kacha (control kaam), the other 3 kakaars don't help you towards liberation. Kirpan reminds you to live in this world and fight against injustice. Kara reminds you not to do bad deeds, it symbolizes that God is without beginning and end. Kanga is to keep yourself well groomed.

Remember Miri and Piri. Temporal and Spiritual authority respectively. Miri deals with the material world, while Piri deals with the liberation aspect. Affairs of governance, rehit, and identity fall into the category of Miri. Guru Gobind Singh ji put the final touches to the Miri part of Sikhi. The Piri part was already taken care of because Guru Granth Sahib was already written. Kakaars distinguish ourselves from others and convey what we stand for. It helps us identify each other. You should wear a dastaar, if for no other reason to just keep your hair clean and covered.

Non-Amritdharis can achieve liberation and become one with God. Please hear me out before you burn me at the stake :onfire: .

Khande de Pahul is just initiation into the Khalsa. It doesn't have any magical powers to liberate your soul. You still have to put in work to cultivate your mind and achieve liberation. However, the fact that someone wants to take Amrit demonstrates their commitment to this path of liberation. I would think an amritdhari would have an easier time achieving liberation just because of the lifestyle that they lead. You should still keep you hair, even if you haven't taken amrit. It's acceptance of God's will (Hukam).

People start smoking to look cool = Maya

They drink to alter their state of mind = forget naam

Chase girls = Maya

Cuts Hair = Maya

^^Your mindset should reflect in your actions.

What is a good deed? Define good. God is above good and bad. He does things that we would term bad, like the tsunami in Japan. Good and bad are terms we define as a society. You don't get liberated by being good.

Remembering God is good (lol for lack of a better word). You can find him by opening your eyes to Hukam. You may see Hukam, but you won't live it if you are doing those other things you mentioned.

From a Sikh perspective, whether or not people of other faiths end up in heaven, hell or reborn is up to whether or not they were able to realize Hukam and live their lives accordingly. If they have never heard of Hukam, then it our duty to spread this teaching to them.

Man I'm tired....good question. Please feel free to rip me apart.

Answer one. Amrit is initiation into the Khalsa Panth, but it is a step closer to naam simran. From what I have heard from mahapurakhs. Khande bate da Amrit opens the way for ek boond amrit which opens the Dasam Dwar. The Kakkars are a reminder that we are the Guru's Sikhs and each Kakkar has a spiritual meaning for the Khalsa.

Answer two. No, because even though you do good deeds you destroy them through your carnal pleasures, such a person cannot be liberated because he/she is still caught in the jaal of maya.

Answer three. Heaven and Hell are basically temporary places, where the same jaal of maya entraps inhabitants. They probably go there depending on the deeds they have done and then are put once more into the cycle of birth and death. Only Naam Simran is the way to God and liberation.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
