Phaenji, our situation is such that I have to rely at least one time meal either on frozen or from outside. Hoping for stable change probably next year :)

Yesterday:

Breakfast : coffee

Lunch : taco bell - crunch wrap (no sour/meat) and one 7layer burrito (no sour cream)

Dinner : three baked naans with home cooked spinach/paneer. fat free yogurt and milk.

misc: 3ish glass of water. 2 cups of coffee and a cup of tea.

Today:

Am - green tea

2pm - about to eat approx. two plates of homemade rice pilau/pilaf with milk.

Going to 5 mile hiking in an hour after heavy meal with our dog.

Bhajee, you need to have a sensible breakfast, don't skip meals. Tea/ coffee for breakfast doesn't count. What snacks are you having?

Well done for getting the hike in.

I've found from experience that if you go out of your way to eat healthy (i.e. make a 360 degree turn from bad to good and then expect to maintain that level for the rest of your life - as it should be!) then changing eating habits is very, very difficult.

That's why I've found eating 'simple' instead of eating radically 'different' is much easier to keep up in the long-term. Maybe it comes with age, who knows? My only (from what I can see) failing in terms of my diet is not enough fruit. I destroy fresh, raw vegetables in a heartbeat but fruit? Does my head in. :biggrin2:

I like to do the extreme. So my diet is totally different to what it was before. As you say, fruit is the hardest to eat. I buy ready made fruit salad from ASDA and I manage to eat everything except Apples. Cant seem to eat the apples :(

What do you guys think about nuts? I just bought almonds, pistachio and cashew nuts. I love the taste of pistachios but read that nuts are high in fats (good ones). Do the good fats become bad if you have too much of them?

Nuts are great for anyone plus us who are vegetarians cos they have alot of protein and basically everything good lol but always have them in moderation aswell just like everything if you do excercise and eat in moderation you really dont have anything to worry about.

I ate too much junk today that i am not going to post the reply lol ..

Balait, 7-layer is probably the only vege burritto that amrekan fast food mexican joint "taco bell" got em. Bad stuff is that it got double fried beans.

Outside food is just plain unhealthy..

I am wearing this tshirt to work which I have been trying to squeeze into since 2008 :) hahaha.

I am losing weight, but I am not weighing myself, just going by the feeling. My diet is improving each day, I have given up juices and drink water instead. I bought 1L bottle of spring water and once that was finished, I just refill it at work. Apart from that, I make sure I eat fruit throughout the afternoon so my lunch is pretty reasonable. Not too light and not too heavy.

I think, the healthy lifestyle does take some getting used to it, I am still at the early stages but I like it :)

Oh and If I want to eat something unhealthy, I just have very little of it for taste. Like found this Ladoo in the fridge, I had a quarter of it, instead of having one or two like before. So If I want to eat things like Ladoos, cakes, I just have very small portion now.
