gupt101,

Gurbani says

ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਹੂਆ

Union and separation are ordained by the Primal Lord God.

Therefore -

"Love nothing but that which comes to you woven in the pattern of your destiny.

Adapt yourself to the life you have been given and love the people with whom destiny has surrounded you."

Bhenjee I think you are too young for marriage. But I think I can understand where your parents are coming from as well. I think it is every parents job to find a guy/girl for their children. I mean it has been happening for such a long time, it is only recently that we have gotten the thought of dating and the whole love marriage thing. I am not saying there is anything wrong with finding a spouse for yourself, but personally speaking if your parents are willing to help, then why not give it a try. Again right now it is not the age for your marriage, but when your going to be a little older maybe around 23 to 25, your feelings about marriage will drastically change. I had the same thoughts as you, and when I hit the age, and seeing my cousins, friends get married, the feeling to have your own family takes over naturally. And I dont think there is anything wrong with it because it is a natural human behavior.

As for your parents trying to find someone for you. Trust them. There are people who fall in love after being arranged with each other. When your time will come, give your parents a try, do not block it out. Think about it, they are not going to get a bad guy for you. Even puraatan Singhs/Singhneeaan used to have arranged marriages and respected each other. Their parents or Gursikhs used to arrange meetings. Trust Guroo Saahib, trust your parents, and trust yourself. :)
