I understand that before 1947 and up to about two decades after that (to 1970s and early 1980s)) the traditional colors that most Sikhs ( Nihangs in particular) used to think were Blue and “Khatta” (marigold yellow/ mustard flower yellow- sometimes called Bassanti , the colour of spring) . Even in the recent sandesh issued to observe March 28, 2012 as Bhai Rajoana day, Jathedar Gurbachan Singh of Akal Takhat asked Sikhs to wear turbans for men and for women the dupattas /chunnis of “Khatta” colour. But now a days people think “Khatta” (yellow) means the Bhagwa_n colour which is the colour of BJP.

.

My question is when and why has the Kesari colour (Bhagwa_n colour) replaced the traditional Sikh “Khatta” colour?

Infiltration Part 2:

Lareevaar to spaced text.

Cropping of Rehraas Sahib.

Cropping of Chaupai Sahib.

Real Khalsa colour (Yellow*) to Hindu Colour (Orange).

Dumalle/Gol Dastaaran to Nok Paggs. (So they are easier to take off).

Sarbloh Kara to Steel Kara.

The list goes on. Let's fix our mistakes...

Yesterday I happened to watch “Sikh Channel” for a few minutes on internet. It was Visakhi celebration / parade being transmitted from somewhere. I saw a few “Khatta” coloured/ Bassanti colour turbans and even some “Nishan Sahibs” in that colour. I hope more people see that, and re-adopt that traditional colour instead of “Bhagwa_n Kesari / Spanish saffron” of BJP.
