ਤੇਰੈ ਸ਼ੌਕ ਕਾਰਣ ਹਰ ਇਕ,ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਤੁਰਿਆ,

بر نُه طبقِ عالم سر افراخت

bar nuh t̤abq ‘alam sar afrāḵẖt

And established his sovereignty over all the nine domains.

ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨੌਵਾਂ ਅਸਮਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਝੰਡਾ ਗਡ ਲਿਆ ॥

شُد آمدنش مُبارک و رفتن هم

shud āmdanash mubārak o raftan ham

His arrival was auspicious and the departure was propitious too,

ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਉਣਾ ਵੀ ਮੁਬਾਰਿਕ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਵੀ ਸੁਭਾਗਾ,

گویا آن کس که راهِ حق را بشناخت

goyā ān kas ke rah-e ḥaqq rā ba-shināḵẖt

And, thus, Goya, he is the one who found the true way.

هوای بندگی آوُ رد در وجوُد مرا
havāye bandagī āvord dar vujūd marā

A yearning for celestial adoration engendered my existence
ਭਜਨ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ,

وگرنه ذَوقِ چنینِ آمدن نبوُد مرا

vagarna zouq-e chunīn āmadan nabūd marā

Otherwise, I fancied not the tangibility.
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੌਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ॥ (੧) - Bhai Nand Lal Ji

ਕਰਿ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੂ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਘਟ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਹੁ ॥੩॥
Kar banḏe ṯū banḏagī jicẖar gẖat mėh sāhu. ||3||
O human being, meditate on the Lord, as long as there is breath in your body. ||3||

خُدا حاضر بود دایم ببین دیدارِ پاکش را
ḵẖudā ḥāẓir būd dāyam babīn dīdār-e pākash rā
God is omnipresent; you just concentrate on going for his vision,
ਰੱਬ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ ॥ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਵਿਤਰ ਦੀਦਾਰੇ ਕਰ ॥

نه گِردابِ درو حایل نه دریا و نه ساحِلها
nā girdāb-e dar o hāyal na daryā o na sāḥilhā
May there be no hurdles and rivers or coasts.
ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੰਵਰ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਦਰਿਆ ਜਾਂ ਕੰਢਾ ॥ (੩)

این چشمِ تو خانه دارِ آن جانان است
īn chashm-e tū ḵẖāna dār-e ān jānān ast
This eye of yours is the domicile of my patron,
ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੱਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੱਜਨ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ;

این تختِ وجودِ مسندِ سُلطان است
īn taḵẖt o vujūd-e masnad-e sult̤ān ast
And the throne of this entity is the abode of true sovereign.
ਇਹ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਾਸਨ ਹੈ ॥

هر بوالهوسی بسویٔ اُو راه نبُرد
har bu’alhavas-e ba-sūye ū rah na-burd
Through passions and sensuality, this goal can’t be reached,
ਹਿਰਸਾਂ ਹਵਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ ਜ ਸਕਦਾ,

که این راهِ تعلق منزلِ مردان است
ke īn rah-e taʻalluq-e mardān ast
As these paths are sanctified for the dauntless devotees of Divinity.
ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਰਸਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ (੩)

دِین وُ دنیا در کمندِ آن پری رُخسارِ ما

dīn u duniyā dar kamand ān parī ruḵẖsār mā

Both, the temporal and the heavenly worlds are in the halter of the fairy-faced benefactor.

ਦੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਉਸ ਪਰੀ-ਚੇਹਰਾ ਦੋਸਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ ॥

هر دو عالم قیمت یک تارِ موی یارِ ما

har dū ʻālam qīmat yek tār-e mūye yār-e mā

And both the domains are not worth the price of my friend’s one hair.(1)

ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜਹਾਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਯਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਵਾਲ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹਨ ॥ (੧)
