Or just do it like me Protein Shake - Tons of salad and dhai(yoghurt) 3-4 rotis and a huge amout of Sabji

And don´t forget to wash the dishes lol!

If not you will get some shittar with the chappal of your mommy trust me !

This cannot be to lose weight (charbi). This is to bulk up, gaining more muscle.

There are several factors that have to be taken into consideration before the exercise plan. Example: How much do you weigh? whats your body fat? do you lift weights? When you get all these things, you can then workout what your calorie requirements are and how much needs to be decreased in accordance to the exercise your doing.

As a veg person myself, i eat Banana, Protein Powder (in water) (avoid using milk as its fatty), Almonds, Broccili, Potatoes, Brown rice, wheat bread, Apple, Cherry Tomatoes, Kali Daal, Chickpeas. Oatmeal and Tofu

Another possible tip that I've been trying recently is training like an hour or 1 hour 20 minutes after eating. i know we grow up being told not to train after eating but I think this is a mistaken concept.

When you do this, the nutrients of the food you have consumed gets utilised and less of it has the chance to turn into churbi (fat).

Here is an interesting BBC article touching on it.

I'm reading this thread whilst watching 'Man vs Food'. I'm conflicted.... :biggrin2:

I agree with the idea of cutting down on rotis and bread. Although being a vegetarian it is tough because there's not much food you can eat without faffing around; sometimes you just don't have the time or energy to faff around, lol.

I've only ever eaten 3 rotis in the evening, but I've told my cook (i.e. my mother) to ensure the original piece of dough for each roti isn't abnormally large or thick, if you know what I mean. A light roti makes all the difference because your brain and your stomach knows it's eaten 3, yet you don't feel hungry later on which might have happened if you cut down your rotis from 3 to 2.

What I've found is a good way to 'hajam' the occasional cheese sandwich (that's if you're worried about eating cheese) is to drink a gulp of boiling hot cup of English tea with each bite of sandwich. For some reason the tea doesn't make your tidh protrude forward, unlike if you drink something like orange squash or another drink with a meal or snack featuring cheese. BTW it should be English tea (i.e. one teabag and a dash of milk -- not the desi tea with the various masaale, etc).

Kaljugi reminded me.

A cup of Chinese green tea during and after a greasy meal is very good to.

We need calories if we live an active lifestyle and to meet the calories demand we need stuff like bread, pasta, oats, dairy ect. Someone working out needs their body weight x 20 calories a day.

This is the best way to lose fat fast ^ afterburn. After a certain amount of cardio (in this case running) your body burns double the amount of calories. It's like a threshold that is passed where your body burns extra calories to prepare for more high intensity work. After this you can stop and your body continues to burn the calories.

I don't agree, I'm on a low carb diet at the mo, I've replaced the carb calories with dairy stuff and much larger portions of veg. I have more energy than ever now. Refined carbs are dodgy because they can spike your sugar levels up suddenly which isn't good for apnay.

1994!! If you just followed half of the advice that has been given on this thread by this point your tid charbi should come flying off in no time!

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
