The ones who use intoxicants feel sleepy all the time. And when they don’t get their dose then they feel feverish. And that person is good for nothing. He lies in his home like a dead person. (Charitropakhyan, Dasam Granth Sahib)

Alcohol is forbidden

Even if anyone did, they wouldn't admit it on this forum. Everyone has an image to maintain

What a nonsensical, idiotic question to be asked on this site.

OP must have been drunk when he posted this question.

I know why the OP's asking this question. There's a tendancy amongst many middle aged Punjabi women these days to drink wine at functions and justify it under the context that its just a type if grape juice so not as bad as beers etc. I like to remind them that wine is in fact 3 or 4 times stronger than a beer. Thus, the one glass of wine is the equivelent to 3 glasses of beer.

No. I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp pencil than drink wine.

What a queestion - You are asking this in a Sikh forum? Anyway - the one who drink will never say that they did it.

I don´t see the point in your question.

Ha, ha, I've heard that as well. My mother has been encouraged (for the past number of years) by Sikh midddle-aged women at her work to buy wine for Christmas because, in their words, "It's just grape juice and seeing as you and your son don't drink there's no problem". Mata Ji obviously told them to jog-on but it makes me lol.

when a person gets drunk, kaam will follow him/her automatically..........it'll pollute the thinking and will make one do bad karams.....

Yes this is true, but one glass of wine will NOT get you drunk.

One glass of wine will not get SOME people drunk, while others will get drunk on one glass. One glass of wine is the same as 3 or 4 glasses of beer. Would you describe the mother that looks after a baby after drinking 4 glasses of beer and then driving the kids to school as 'sober' ?

    • Just checked on quroa,  they seem to be of various different backgrounds.  "Kashmiri sikhs are mainly dogra language speakers hails from mostly two ethical communities katri (including arora as well) and saraswat brahmins, (pundits, mohyals and Dora's and other punjabi brahmins), some of these sikhs speak punjabi as there mother tongue, many of these sikhs were opted for sikhism while guru hargovind ji and guru teg bhadur ji regime. They are practically arya sikhs as there is no any other caste in sikh community there"    "Kashmiri Sikhs are aborigines of Kashmir. They mostly belong to Mohyal castes of Brahmins like Chhibber, Bali, Datta,Mehta, Luv, Mohan, bhimwal. Majority of these people got converted to Sikhism right from the time of Guru Nanak and Guru Hargobind sahib. During the time of Maharaja Ranjit singh many Jat Sikhs also settled in valley and can be seen in Kupwara, pattan and mattan areas. we have also small section of trader Sikh population. They mostly are Khatris. linguistically Kashmiri Sikhs are Punjabi"   The sikhs of Jammu region mostly are of Khatri/Arora/Jat community, but the question asked about Sikhs of Kashmir region As a matter of fact, Most of the Kashmir Sikhs have surnames similar to Kashmiri Pandits, I know Sikhs having surnames like Raina,Ganjoo,Kher,Razdan etc. which are obviously Kashmiri Pandits surnames.
