mehtab singh, im mentioning this for the canadians/yanks who may not knw about this cruddy crap little town, plus wen it comes 2 topics of EDL/Uk islamic extremists, luton cant not be mentioned. i can assure u i usually hate tellin ppl where im from/born coz i find it embarrasing, but for the sake of edl related arguements, luton will always pop up. r u an american btw?

if u dont like it mehtab, i will not mention it again, sorry pal

Nahi I am not American but been living in US for a long time now. Don't be sorry. I grew up in the United Arab Emirates which is right next to Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam, so I do understand your outbursts. Trust me none of you have seen the kind of days me and my folks have thanks to certain people who prefer calling us Kafirs instead of what our identity is. But since this forum is frequented by kids as well, its only a request to keep the heat under control ;)

yea i recently conversed with 2 ppl on youtube, 1 sikh other panjabi hindu, who both have sed that in dubai, muslims openly try n desecrate the gurdwara there n spit blatantly infront the gurdwara n swear @ apnay there. Quite a bit of discrimination, altho ive heard these arabs dont like asians altogether, regardless of religion.

I never came across anything like that, in fact I find Arabs and Pakistanis (especally Punjabis) very friendly towards Sikhs, but thats my own personal experience. But yeah, exceptions do occur as not all fingers are the same. As for spitting in front of the Gurdwara, thats close to impossible here.

Let me tell you something I saw with my own eyes. In a place like Dubai known for its brutal traffic, you can only wish not to go deaf with the kind of noise and honks you get on the roads, especially on weekends. Back in 06-07 one of my friends, a Singh, had keertan at his place which was right in the middle of one of the busiest suburbs of Dubai, and yes it was on a weekend and in the evening (i.e crazy traffic and crazy noise). The scene of bringing Guru Sahib jee's saroop has stuck forever in my mind. The car in which Guru Sahib jee's saroop had arrived was stopped right in the middle of the road on this busy street. Guru Sahib jee's saroop was brought out, one of the Singhs placed the saroop on his head, one Singh walked in front of him sprinkling water on the road, and all this took a good few minutes. I clearly remember that not a single car honked or made the least bit of noise. All those beings in their cars stuck in traffic came to a standstill as the King of all kings was seen pass by in all His glory and grandeur. Are the people tolerant? Maybe a bit. Did they get shocked at the daring nature of these Singhs who dared to stop the traffic? Possible. I actually know for a fact that it was the power of Guru Sahib jee's shaan that no one dared to honk. And yes, this was in Dubai, the crown of the Islamic Middle East.

Anyways, this thread is about EDL, so please proceed and please show respect to disagreeing opinions.

Well it seems that for the most part The EDL have quite a bit of sympathy among the people on here. That's good. The next bit is, is there anyone on here who openly supports The EDL (goes to the demos and talks about them positively with their peers etc...)? If you don't but you still like The EDL, what do you feel is preventing you from doing that?

There may be people with sympathies towards the EDL on here, however I am not one of them. I think they're a disgrace, their "leader" is an utter <banned word filter activated> (did anyone read about his Twitter debacle?? Or the fact that he defended Breivik's actions?!) and the entire group cannot distinguish one brown face from another. As far as they are concerned, they are against ALL Muslims, not just extremist Muslims. They spend their time getting drunk and smashing up kebab shops, hurl "curry muncher" as an insult and go for a curry themselves WITH NO HINT OF IRONY!!

They like to think that they support the troops and the royal family, yet many a time their members are seen to throw Nazi salutes. I'm sure the veterans of World Wars, who have lived through horrors we cannot even begin to imagine, would be proud to see the nation they fearlessly defended from Nazi tyranny be "protected" by some fat, bald, tattooed "frightful count" with a penchant for throwing Seig Hiel's and wetting himself due to one Stella too many. Gaw Bless 'em!! :eyeroll:

Having said all that, you know what the REAL irony is?? They are no different to the extremists they claim to be against. Both extremist Muslims and the EDL are flip sides of the same, dirty coin.

Have you been to their website? Read their mission staement? If you haven't, here it is: http://englishdefenceleague.org/about-us/mission-statement/

As for the Nazi saltutes, when they started out, they had a lot of racists in their group. The racists were kicked out by the leader and his friends, they went and started their own group (North-West Infidels?) and were the ones you see doing all those Nazi Salutes.

The EDL have made it clear they are not against people of color. They have black, Sikh and even Muslims members. They say they are against political Islam (maybe you can argue they arew against all Islam), but certainly not anyone because of the color of their skin.

Watch from 1:30 to 2:10. Still racist?

Still "only against radical Islam" are they???

If you want to know more about the EDL then I suggest you Google "EDLNews", or look at "Hope Not Hate" (http://www.hopenothate.org.uk/hate-groups/edl/). Or maybe go out and ask the innocent Asians who are targetted by these knuckle-dragging bell-ends. Sorry if my language offends but I have no truck with these fascist loons. You want to believe what they spew, that's entirely your choice.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
